I am wondering what price I should be willing to pay a private seller (a friend of a friend whose engagement broke off) for the diamond with the following GIA report: 6147118655. Report link: http://www.gia.edu/cs/Satellite?rep...ename=GIA/Dispatcher&c=Page&cid=1355954554547

I'll shoot to be within +/- $500 of that figure!

Here's a very comparable, almost identical stone on JA for $14,500.

If he's realistic about his chances on the secondary market, he'll probably be happy with 75% of that: $10,875.

I agree with GS... :))

He'd be really lucky to get $10,000. I definitely wouldn't pay any more than $10,500 (which is a lot more than he'd get if posting on DB or LT). Most PS members say that the 2nd hand market only fetches about 50-60%.

I settled on a final price of $11,300. Perhaps I overpaid (though a platinum band is included), but I can't seem to find any better deals for the life of me! I've already given my word, so the deal is done, but I can't find these legendary used diamond prices for the life of me....

Thanks for you help!!!!!
