OK PS'ers - would love to hear some feedback. In addition to re-setting my pear e-ring, I am also looking into a reset of my 5 stone anniversary band. The stones are loose, and I would really love to have a it made into a u-channel eternity ring. Took it to a local jeweler to price it out. My stones are apparently .20 ct, they would have to add 10 (totaling about 2.1 ct additional) for my size 6. Total weight would be 3ct. In white gold, they are offering this custom work at $6265 and in platinum $6587.

I can't find the IDJ link at the moment, but I believe an entire 3 ct ring in the style would cost less than the above quotes. Your thoughts? TIA.

Agreed with Octo2005, that is a high quote - pass. I would reach out to David Klass, he has done some really pretty "rehab" pieces.

Thanks for the feedback - that is what I thought as well. Although somehow it feels easier to go with someone local, it's not worth the price difference.

I love IDJ, but I would personally go with DK, because I really like his custom work. Kayla17 recently did something similar and used the stones from her old wedding set to create a new band, see here: https://www.pricescope.com/communit...evamped-wedding-band-from-david-klass.230853/
