Price check against GIA report

Hello experts :)

I've been shopping both online and in stores for the perfect stone. I was considering one specific stone online (which has very politely been ruled out now thanks to some great help from pricescope users). I have an alternative option from a local dealer who I think is trustworthy but I want to check their price against common sense. I've tried checking against online stores, but there's so much nuance involve here that I'd love to get a common sense opinion from more battle-weary buyers.

Would anyone hazard to estimate the cost of the diamond described in the following report extract? Please note, the GIA report is SI1 but the dealer in question is sure that it could be considered VS2 as well.

Thank you in advance!

Its not a very well cut stone. Let us know what your budget is so we can help pick out a better cut stone.

Trying to spend $5k on the stone if possible :) Looking for smaller and better rather than bigger and a lower quality. Will likely mount into a yellow gold band with silver prongs

Dito tyty.

A quick search of well-cut stones for you to price check against (branded precision-cut stones carry premiums, some vendors offer more information on the stone and more generous upgrade/buyback/trade-in policies - services which cost more)

0.84 G SI1 ACA $4.5k http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3273896.htm
0.89 F SI1 ACA $5k http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3273904.htm

0.84 D SI2 AVR $5.1k http://www.goodoldgold.com/ecommerce/0-84ct-d-si2-august-vintage-round-diamond.html
0.83 D SI2 H&A $4.7k http://www.goodoldgold.com/ecommerce/0-83ct-d-si2-superior-round-hearts-and-arrows-diamond.html (Main inclusion by girdle is prongable)
0.81 G VS2 AVR $5.3k http://www.goodoldgold.com/ecommerce/0-81ct-g-vs2-august-vintage-round-diamond.html

0.77 E VS2 CBI H&A $5.3k http://www.highperformancediamonds.com/index.php?page=view-id-diamond-infinity-new&id=1378

JA's prices for unbranded stones are surprisingly high in this range...
0.90 G VS2 $5.1k http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.90-carat-g-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-357876
0.90 F SI1 $4.9k http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.90-carat-f-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-370248

ETA: Just saw your other thread - you have lots of options! My favourite of this list is the 0.89ct F SI1 ACA - precision-cut, H&A, generous policies, lots of information, or the 0.9 G SI1 ES that Julie pointed out in your other thread for a few hundred less. The vendor (WF) makes beautiful settings as well ::)

Thank you so much for the info :) I need to look in more detail at them tonight after work and make a call. You're all really a life saver here!

You should mention to your local guy you only want ideal cut stones. This is facing up too small for its weight due to the thick girdle.
