My mom''s 55 birthday is coming up. She was always dreaming about big soliter diamond ring (she got one in Israel, it doesn''t look good at all).
I am thinking about getting as big of a stone as I can (cut has to be ideal), go lower on a color and try to find one with flourescence. My budget is around $3,500.
PLease give me your expert opinion on this one. It scores 1.2 on HCA. Thanks in advance.

Cut is good, but clarity and color wise will depend. Not sure if it is eye-clean, only way is to check with Wink, color will definitely be distinctive, no way to hid it, maybe enhance it as a feature I think is the way to go. I am also eying that stone... :P But can't justify to myself to buy it... :P

EDT:
When I first look at the thread I thought you want to invite the president for you mum???

Oh, can you ask Wink for a small video of that S? I so want to see it live.

This one will definitely be tinted, but if that is something your Mom would embrace then fine. The cut is excellent and if it is eyeclean then it could be a beauty! Ask Wink concerning the specifics if it is eyeclean, how the S colour grade presents itself etc.

Pinky ring, tension set?

Stone-cold11,
I''ll ask Wink to make a video of the stone and will post it here. It doensn''t look too yellow on the picture (might be because of SB fluorescence), that''s why it attracted me. I personally like warmer colors (traded up my F for an I color and very happy with it).

Dun think so... :p The engagement ring I bought for my fiancee is only 0.97c... No way am I going to wear a stone more flashy than her''s... :p

There will be a huge difference between an I and an S. I had an I and it was lovely and white. I also have an M and its got some tint. I would be sure whe will like the S colour before you proceed. Wink is lovely and very approachable.

What about this one ?

I am still a newbie here, what kind of cut is that ? How is it going to perform compared to ideal cut ?

HI:

It is Clarity enhanced.

ETA:

Not a round, but might be worthwhile inquiring about: (no images present)

It is an Enhanced Clarity, thus the lower price, usually special care will be needed in setting and cleaning to prevent the filling from being wash/burn out.

Great find indeed Sharon it's a beauty...

I did my reading and decided to avoid clarity enhanced stones. But what about the cut of the stone? It looks like GOG has few of those with similar cut that reminds of OEC or transitional cuts. Does anyone have one of those ? How do they perform ?

Ya, those are OEC or transitional.

As promised here is the link to the video on the stone.

Infinity S color RB

Wink was kind enough to film that video right after he received my question about the stone. I''m waiting for my mom to decided if this is the one for her.

Nice!

I''ve been longing for that diamond. I love the ring of crystals under the table and the rich, buttery yellow color. I think it would look stunning in a yellow gold bezel.

You bought it? :P

Has anyone see the infinity cut for L color round brilliant? Pls point me to where I can see it. Thanks!!!

Hi Stone-cold11,
Either a video or a picture. I am sooo curious. Do you know where I can find them?

Didn''t see an L at the screen cast link above, but there are other colors, K, M on video. Are those close enough?

There is a video on Pricescope somewhere that I took of a 1.58 L-SI1 RB and one of a princess in my gallery. This was made before I started using Camtasia for video editing and Screencast for my host for the videos.

If you contact me I can give you the link to my 1.58 video.

Joelly -- are you becoming a fan of the "lower" colors?!!!!!! Watch out -- they''re addicting, I think!
