Prada has launched its first jewelry collection featuring lab grown diamonds.

Makes sense...custom cutting a diamond to a very specific shape/dimensions carries far less risk (and cost) than natural grown diamonds - if the finished result isn't up to standards, then they simply select another rough and start over, which is much easier and cheaper to do with lab grown than burning through multiple natural roughs.
