Hey guys, has anyone noticed any significant changes in pricing for in stock diamonds in NY and NJ? Is now a good time to be a cash buyer in the Tristate area market or is it business as usual ?

I don't think the storm would affect diamond prices. That is more globally influenced pricing.

I didn't mean overall diamond prices...just inhand diamonds in areas severely effected by the storm...

Maybe they have increased prices to compensate for the days they had to be closed. I have no reason to think prices would have decreased any more than the diamond market in general.

I agree with "Diamondseeker...storm wouldn't affect the diamond prices," in fact things are now back to normal and I believe it is the right time to make the purchase as it will help in 2 ways. 1st is you are indirectly supporting the economy and 2nd is you will bring smile on the faces of those who might have faced heavy losses. I know everything must have been taken care by the insurance companies but still after a long break it feels good to see a walk in customer.

This makes me sick to my stomach.
I can just picture someone walking in, hey I see your store is destroyed how about a 20% discount for cash.
