Hey guys and girls,

I have my girlfriend's ring down to two choices...I think.

Please let me know what you think about these two Verragio's...

It will be a Marquise cut for either ring, so disregard the round in the picture on the bottom. Also, it will be Rose Gold, so disregard that in the bottom picture, too. Let me know which setting looks the best. Is the bottom one over the top?

I wish I could put the Marquise on the bottom ring to make it a comparable picture, but the website won't let me.

What do you think?

Thanks!!!

I vote for the second because the first is too ornate for my taste. The second is too... but less so. :wink2:

These rings have a very unique look - I'm sure you picked these options with your girlfriend's sense of style in mind, but you might want to ask yourself a few questions before put money down on either. Has your girlfriend told you that she likes this style of ring, and has she tried on any of these rings? If not, does she have a distinctive style in her clothing or decor? Does she wear a lot of clothing with ruffles, lace, or chiffon, or does she favor a sleeker or more modern look? Does she like to wear statement clothing that stands out? Does she like to mix traditional with modern styles? The first style especially could be difficult to keep clean - will this present a problem for her job or interests?

If you're sure this is what your girlfriend would want, then go for it. I'm just urging some caution because these rings are very ornate and kind of in the extreme, style-wise. Just recently someone picked out a style like these for his GF and then bowed to our *ahem* gentle persuasion to visit a jewelry store with her before deciding on a setting. She favored far simpler styles. Others have mentioned something similar, that they loved this style in the abstract, but didn't like it as much when they actually tried it on.

Good luck!

I prefer the one on the bottom - I think that setting is beautiful!

I am not sure many women ruffles and lace anymore, but no, she does not typically wear that. She is very athletic, outdoorsy, and in the airforce, so no, this is not really her style. HOWEVER...when it comes to romance, she is extremely girly in that way which is why I think these would work. Thanks for your input.

Thank you! I was leaning toward the first one, but I really like the inside of the bottom one, too.

I prefer the bottom one but if she is sporty, outdoorsy...that will be way too ornate for every day wear. Maybe go modern?

I like the first one best. Verragio is known for being ornate. I'm an athletic/sporty and outdoorsy but I'm also a classic dresser and take good care of myself. I have a Tacori, they're not as ornate and flowery as Verragio but still up there in detailed design. I love my Tacori. Would I wear it camping or gardening? No. But that's what wedding bands are for. Anyway, my long winded answer is: Just because she's athletic/sporty doesn't mean she won't love a Verragio.

Not that she won't like it, but that it might not hold up to the wear and tear.

I know what you're saying...I think it will depend on how she cares for it. I'm very careful with my ring, I take it off at home when prepping dinner, cleaning etc. I definitely don't wear it for sports or working out. I think it's possible for these types of rings to last a long time provided the wearer takes a few extra precautions. But not everyone wants to baby their set and some feel that rings are meant to be worn all the time. As Kenny would say, people vary. :D

Since she will be in the airforce, I am sure she won't wear it. I have no doubts she will take care of it, so wear and tear won't be an issue. I went to look at the rings in person today, and I am no closer to making a decision. Ugh. Even the sales reps at the store were 50/50 on each ring. Ha ha!

Thanks for all the input so far everyone!

It's so hard to decide, isn't it? They are both beautiful, so you can't go wrong with either! You mentioned you were leaning towards the first, so I say go for it - you'll feel a sense of relief once you've picked one! :D
