I have placed this on hold until tomorrow morning as upgrade to my 1/5 of a carat wedding ring diamond for 28th wedding anniversary. Why this one? cos I can get .77 carats and is it H&A at one of the preferred dealers on Pricescope. My initial limit per husband was $2000, so this is at the very tippy tippy top of what I can spend. (Pricescope disount puts it around $2300) Isn''t it worth stretching $300 for bigger size? I may put it in my current ring, but am toying with the idea of designing my own (I wish I knew how to scan my drawings). Current ring is gold, but if I do new it would be whitegold. I''ve seen J''s on this board that look beautiful.

Another vender that I won''t name cos I haven''t put that one on hold has a much higher color (E) at .6 ish for just a little less money. It is about 5.4 mm in size. It is also H&A type, but Si1. He looked at it live and said it was beautiful and the inclusion could be hidden under a prong. He thought it was much better to go with the better color .

Would ya''ll go for size or color? I am happy I can get into the .6 to .7 range because I see so many .5''s in the $1800-2000 price range and I waited so long for a bigger diamond.

Would jewelers have J''s in their store, if I just went to the mall would I be able to see a J in person? Thanks all--this has been so much fun looking for diamonds!

Hi,

Yes, B&Ms will have a J color, but the difference will be the cut of the diamond. ACAs are so well cut with awesome light return that it will make most B&M diamonds pale in comparison. This is what blew me away when I saw the ACAs in person. Order and then take to a B&M and compare, you have nothing to lose.

If you dont mind a little tint in your stone, then I feel this is a great deal.

Just my 2 cents

Great stone and size!!!!! I think you''ll be happy with it. What setting are you thinking of getting with it?

This one because it reminds me of my present wedding ring. I am really in love with a Vatche engraved x-prong but it is $1900 and therefore out of my price range. That's why I am also thinking of having one custom made but I haven't asked how much $$$ that would be yet.

Here it is http://www.dvatche.com/solitaires.html That's one reason I want to go for size, because I think this kind of setting calls for a bigger diamond? But alas, this one is not for me unless I can get a custom one done for a lottttt lesss..

Style 116--sorry the link doesn't give the exact ring-- you have to hunt--its on the second page, second from the right I think--I'll try later for exact link--husband wants to finish watching a movie and I keep coming out to look at responses, thank goodness he's so understanding--But its about the DIAMOND, honey!!!!

It looks like a lovely stone, happy anniversary!!!

Here''s a good link to the Vatche I like: http://diamondvues.com/archives/fil-2.jpg. I may have a custom one done with engraved sides to match my present ring, but I love love love the X-prong!

BTW: I didn''t call in time ( morning) to catch a human at Whiteflash, I e-mailed instead with more questions and kept waiting for an answer. By the time I called they were not taking phone calls--closed for the weekend. Now what happens to the diamond I had on hold? Yikes--one minute I am thinking do I really want a J ? and the next I am afraid my diamond is gone!
