Now, don't let her get complacent with it. DHs grandmother has one, and she did need to use it, however she left the dang thing next to her bed. She had to scoot on her butt all the way from her kitchen down the hall and to her bedroom bc she couldn't get up,. But could scoot!

Wow, that is a very scary situation and thankfully she made that agreement with her neighbor. Very smart. DH's grandmother is 94, living on her own, and we do rotations to check on her. I dread the day we see something like that happen, or find her no longer with us (as each day is like a miracle when your 94). Wishing a speedy recovery for your mom!
