Possible to find a perfect round OEC?

I don't love it - the faceting isn't nearly as crisp. On the plus side it'll concentrate colour better IRL, on the downside you won't get as many crisp, bold flashes of light. The first DBL is TDF though

My husband asked me if I'd rather just get a new setting so I'm not so restricted on diamond size but I really love this one and would prefer to use it. I don't wear much jewellery and rarely wear other rings so it would be a waste of this one if I bought a new one. Listen to me being so sensible!

I concur … August Vintage Round.

Hi Kenny :wavey:

I wish I had the funds for an AVR.

I have a 5.70 x 5.74 OEC that's almost a perfect round. I'm sure you can find one if you keep looking, but maybe it's going to take a while.

Oh, you want 6mm.

Here are four that may fit your setting.

So there is hope! I'm disappointed your diamond won't work out for me. It seemed to be perfect.

Thanks Laila! I didn't know Ritani sold diamonds. They even gave me the prices in British pounds!

Jonathon at GOG suggested this

It's not your classic OEC or Transitional - would this be an example of a later "European cut"?
How much is it? And what do you think?
The one thing I'm not sure about is whether you'd want to play up the body colour or minimise it with an "M" - I have a couple of half-carat Ns that are tinted enough to clearly stand out from a white diamond halo, so if it was an N or lower I'd err toward playing up the colour, but I'm not sure where M falls - in fact I'm sure it depends on the stone in question!

Jonathon referred to it as an OEC. It's just over budget but the right size for my bezel. I totally agree with what you are saying about the colour. I've emailed to ask for a photo of it on a hand to try and get an idea of the colour.

Hello Maisie :)

I think you should keep saving-unless you get what your heart is set on-you might be looking to change it down the road. Please don't settle (and don't take this personally). You sapphire ring is STUNNING.

I say put the 2k down on a stone that you love and either make payments or wait until you have the remainder saved. There are some really nice settings used that we could find you too OR we can find you a whole ring. Are you looking for an OEC halo ring?

2k is a nice budget. Have you seen this by D&T? You could keep your entire ring and use it as a RHR and then reset the sapphires in earrings or something special for your girls (push present for your daughter maybe?) when you have the $ to reset the stone.

Hello VL :wavey:

You saying I'm fickle?!!!

I definitely want to use my setting. I love it and with the engraving it will be just perfect. I will wait to make sure I get the right diamond though. I want to be sure I won't want to change it later. I'm not in a hurry to do this but don't want to wait a long time either.

I got this video sent though of the N colour diamond that was suggested on ebay. I think it's too low for me so that helps in my search. I think I would be better staying at L or higher....... Which means I will probably have to increase my budget.

The D&T ring is a great buy in my opinion, if you can make the diamond work in that setting. :)

Heh, I actually just bought a 6mm oec, but it's a much lower color than you want. No idea if it's perfectly round either, but I'm planning on putting it in a prong setting so it doesn't matter so much. :)

I've just sent her an email :))

Yes. Actually when I ordered my new ering setting a few weeks ago, the jeweler verified the measurements and told me how unusual it was for my Transitionl to be so symmetrically round.
