Right now I have a RB .82 in a 6 prong solitaire. I REALLY love the look of the split shank rings, and I was wondering if you guys thought that would look ok with the size of my current diamond? Most of the pictures I''ve seen have 1-2 carats, so I wasn''t sure. Thanks!!

I think it would look beautiful.

It should look great! No reason you shouldn''t go for it. I guess the one suggestion I would make is not to get a ring with really wide/thick shanks. I couldn''t find great examples, but this will give you an idea. The first ring might overwhelm the diamond, whereas the second would enhance it.

I think it would look great but that may be because I have a .82 in a split shank setting.

hi dseem13 :)

i have an .83ct stone and i think it would look fine in a split shank setting. it''s all about the proportions, isnt it? keep it delicate and it will look as great as any other!

go girl!

<---- is a .62

Go for it!

This is my absolute favorite splint-shank I''ve seen on these boards and its .74 ct. Its a princess but you get the idea.

I think it would be very pretty in that setting. Just remember the spacing between the shanks may be less with a smaller stone, but it''ll still be gorgeous.

Do it! I love split shank settings and was considering one. (We were looking at 3/4 ct stones, and it looked great.)

I say go for it! I think it would look great.

Ditto. My split shank is has a 1.01 but a slightly more delicate setting would suit a smaller stone.

My stone is .70 cts and I think it looks great in my split shank!

Thank you!!!

I still love it too. Looking back on that thread, she looks so skinny!! I have added a ''layer'' on each side since, the need for more bling consumed me! Oh, and I got married too

.

thanks again for the compliment, and YES I think your stone will work just fine! The split shanks just draw the eye from the sides of the finger to the main event in the middle!
