I am looking at possibly getting and OEC. I just don't know what setting to get. I don't want a modern setting, I know that. Since it's an OEC I want something antique-ish but not overly ornate.

Please post any ideas you have for settings, for around a 2 ct stone

Do you have general ideas of what you want? Solitaire, halo, etc.? What periods do you like?

Do you want a solitaire setting or a bezel/halo setting? Or a 3 stone setting?

I don't want a solitaire, that's just too plain. I would consider a halo as long as the main diamond still stood out and was main focus. I do like Art Deco most

I have always been leery of bezel as I am afraid it will make the actual diamond look smaller since it's encompasses the edge. Don't care for 3 stone

I love an 8 prong for a beautiful solitaire OEC and I think 2 carats can handle an 8 prong.
I also think bezeling it could be beautiful if the edge is very thin.
And of course an OEC cluster would be gorgeous. Something like this perhaps. It's hard to share ideas since I don't know your aesthetic.

ETA: just saw you don't want a solitaire. I think a cluster/halo would be amazing.

I am trying to find a good OEC cluster ring pic. I'll be back.

Here you go. An entire thread to drool over. Enjoy!

Budget? This is something I am good at- in my opinion.

Custom or stock?

my vote goes for a halo. you can use small melees for the halo so that the center stone still stand out

Take a look at the offerings from Ivory and Rose in the Etsy store for inspirations - they have lots of art deco rings and inspired settings.

There is where I found the setting inspo for my 8mm OEC blue Zircon.
