POLL:What metal do you prefer for a wedding band worn alone?

I love platinum and white gold wedding sets, but when worn by itself (like when running errands, cleaning, etc), I love the look of a gold band!

What do you prefer?

I am a white metal lover and I voted platinum.
But I also love the look of a YG band.

My wedding set is platinum, but when I just wear a plain band, I reach for my 22kt hammered band or my 18kt yellow gold Tiffany Lucida band. I have two plain platinum bands, one plat/diamond band, one tri- color rolling ring, and one white gold band- but it's the yellow gold I love.

Interesting uestion! All of my diamond bands and rings are platinum, and I have a couple that are white gold. I also have several plain platinum bands, but they're only worn as part of a stack. Whenever I wear a plain band alone, it's *always* my 14-karat yellow gold sturdy full-round strong-as-an-ox 3mm band. It looks like a little golden inner tube and is sized slightly large so that it will fall loosely (looks more elegant than a ring that fits perfectly, IMHO). I love my YG band. It's a total workhorse!

When I wear just a band alone it is my platinum band with milgrain edges.

My wedding band is a Trinity so hard to vote from personal experience lol.

However my vote is strongly based on skin tone. My husband wears yellow because nothing no thing else would have looked near as good on his ginger skin.

The quintessential clawing w band to me is yellow gold,though.


All in all, I'm no help.

I voted rose gold, because it looks best on my skin tone, and WG or platinum would be my second choice. I really like yellow gold, especially the high karat pieces, but it just doesn't love me back...yellow is not my complexion's friend. So I would go with whichever metal looks best on your hand.

My wedding band is a Trinity so hard to vote from personal experience lol.

This is my dilemma! I have a fair, light-olive complexion and YG looks great on me & I think a simple gold band looks very pretty, but I'm thinking of doing a platinum band simply for the durability of it. My e-ring is WG.

I have 14k YG with scattered diamonds, 14K YG engraved, 14K WG, Cartier Trinity (all 18K)...I love them all! I wear them all, I need to add a heavy platinum band and a higher carat yellow gold band, maybe 21 or 22. My favorite has become the yellow gold engraved band.

I rotate bands - YG with gypsy set diamonds, cartier tricolor trinity or plat diamond eternity.

Another vote for yellow here! I agree, if I'm wearing just a band because I'm doing something where I could damage my wedding set, I wear a 2.5mm gold band. My platinum band alone just doesn't do it for me. At least not by itself!

Platinum all the way for me. I love the look and also love the fact that no replating is necessary. I oxidize white gold very quickly and it never stays white for long on my hand so I only buy platinum for rings.

I never go out without my engagement ring/anniversary ring and eternity ring. I wear all 3 with my 2mm white gold band.
Soooo, that would be white gold band but ONLY if I forget the others.
