Help me decide! I think I have all the info now to make this decision but I'd love to get some feedback now that I have pictures of my stone (a 2.59 OMC) with both cuts. See below and thanks!

I think French cuts would be lovely!

voting for old mine cuts, no offense to anyone with french cuts, as they are beautiful, but I like the setting and stones in the old mine cut diamonds.. either way, it's a great problem to have.

Absolutely old mine cuts!

Your stone is beyond beautiful :kiss2:

Vote for the French, for two reasons: I doubt you might find OMCs of similar cut with the main stone, & a certain ring at David's with a OMC flanked by relatively large French cuts, made quite an impression on yours truly ... IHMO, your diamond seems ever more suitable for this treatment, the sides could be smaller - TBD.

Beautiful diamond !

frenchies look elegant and provide a nice contrast to the center, the omc w/ omc is more matchy than i would like personally but they both look nice, you can't lose :appl:

Old Mine Cut from same era as stone!

Everyone goes ape shit over frenchies so I think some will vote for it just becuase they love them rather becuase of the design.
I like the little side stone detail

@valeria101 is absolutely right about finding the right stones. I have gone through this process with my cushion and it is hard so I gave up. Unless they are small accent stones that the cut is not that noticeable. But if you are going for more of a three stone look with bigger ones it will be difficult. If you go with the rounds my eye would want slightly smaller ones. Frenchies are nice too but I would want narrow ones like what Caysie? has shown.

I love the small side stone detail and think that they suit your center stone nicely! I also love the ring design better compared to the French cuts. You can always get a band with French cuts which will look lovely with a ring that has small accent stones!

Did you decide on the crown head and band/gap issue?

That second ring design very easily could have two little OECs, which Yoram could cut to match. In fact, it looks more like rounds in that next to the last picture. If you like the second setting best, that's what I'd do, because I couldn't stand mismatched OMCs, personally.

I also like the little square frenchies in the shank of the first inspiration setting.

French.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your input. I'm goin frenchies! I think strangely the small old cuts look weird since the facet patterns will inevitably be different than my stone. Also I think the size of the facets on the omc's distracts from my stone whereas the size of the facets on the french cuts blend better with my stone if that makes sense. As a few of you said its going to be hard for the OMC's to perfectly match the center stone so I'd rather have an extreme contrast of sorts with the french cuts than a slight mismatch with the omcs. ;-) Excited to move onto the next step!

This is exactly what I was thinking as I was looking at the pictures - I'm looking forward to the results! :)

@acv123 I think you made a fabulous choice. They're beautiful. I would've chosen them too. Come back with pics!!

I love the French cuts cause the sparkle pattern is different from the center.
