Poll:should my ring be RG

I got the CADs for my ring, and looking at it I was considering going RG for the band. I went to some mall stores and, even though they had a terrible collection, the one RG band they did have in stock looked so good on my skin. I was thinking 18k so its not quite as pink, but more peach.

Its a pear but I would imagine it looking similar to nic12h's ring
Looking for opinions please.

Could you have someone make the 18 kt color in 14kt for durability? If it looks good with your skin, go for it. Not everyone looks good in it and it's pretty and romantic.

stick with 18k red gold if you're going to do it. 18k is strong enough and it looks richer imo than 14k. 14k red gold can look very bright and i liken the look to costume jewelry just pricier.....yeah, i know its my opinion only and admittedly i really dislike 14k gold no matter the color [white/red/pink/green/yellow].

You can't lose with rose gold and diamonds. But I agree, the softer color of 18k rose gold.

My ering is a pear in 18k rose gold so I say GO FOR IT! I love it, the color is stunning. It plays beautifully with the pear IMO. Classic elegance.

Also, what type of wedding band do you use? the only reason I might back out of this rose gold business is if i cant find a nice wedding band to match

I use an 18k yellow antique forget me not band. The color isn't identical, but I love the way they look together.

Both of those rings are beautiful. I should find the link to that rings post I wanna know all the stats. I guess I'm just worried about it being hard to find a wedding ring and also that I don't know if my heavy handedness will be good with 18 k gold

I personally just prefer 18k for my jewelry, and I promise it's very sturdy! I'm not gentle with my hands at all. I tend to take my diamond off to wash dishes and such-simply because I don't like to have it get soap on it. Everything else I do with it on. The band with the engraving is OLD and was worn daily by my grandmother for decades-she never took it off. It took a beating and honestly is in great shape. I'm very impressed with how easy to wear it is.

And thank you. I personally adore my rings. The pear is a GIA cert'd .76 carat M colored eyeclean SI2. Melee is E/F VVS2. The ring is 18k rose gold with a platinum bezel. It was done by DBL.

I adore lower colored stones with rose gold. It has a lovely antique feeling to me, even though neither the setting or stone is!

Nothing wrong with a rose gold band if you like it. My personal preference is also the softer 18k rose gold over the more coppery 14k rose gold.
