Okay, so after lots of thought and many jewelry stores I've decided to return my graduated five stone band from BG and reset my halo engagement ring into a three stone. While I love the five stone I don't love my halo and I'd rather reset my engagement ring right now into something more durable that I can feel comfortable wearing. I considered a graduated five stone engagement ring but don't LOVE the prongs on the version BG creates. I think six prongs on my center stone is too much and I'm not sure how their design could be altered to avoid the six prongs. For reference here is the setting I'm talking about - https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/5-stone-graduated-trellis-from-bgd.170896/

I've narrowed it down to the BG crossed trellis or the BG truth x3 in platinum. My center is 1.28 and I'm looking at pairing it with .50 on either side.

If you had to pick from one of these settings which one would you select?

I really like a three stone ring and think you have chosen nice proportions. I personally like the classic look of the Truth setting with all stones in 4 prongs, personally.

On October 17th you wrote that you want a halo, without milgrain and with special attention to symmetry and evenness:

I've been wanting to reset my ring for a while now so this isn't something that just occurred to me. I've been tossing around a few ideas but a halo is what I want. What I don't like about my current reset is the miligrain, how my stone sits in the cushion cut halo and how one sides of the halo seems to be slightly uneven.

The settings I'm considering include the BG Allie or Sarah or the VC emilya potentially with a plain shank. Both are about the same investment so I'm trying to decide which would be the better choice. Looking back I should've returned the setting ERD did for me but at the time I was just so happy with the changes from my old setting that I didn't see the things I do now.

Ten days later you're considering returning the five-stone you just got a couple of weeks ago to re-set your Ering stone - into a non-halo design.

I think you need to give yourself more time to figure out what you truly want - what you like about both pieces, what you don't like about both pieces, what your priorities are. What is your return policy w/ BGD for the fivestone?

Yssie, I know I've been back and forth with a halo vs no halo but I know for certain that a three stone is what I want. A halo isn't practical for my life right now. I loved the five stone but ultimately felt the funds should go to resetting my ering into something I can actually wear. I've already returned the ring and sent BG my exiting ering. My center diamond will be used for the three stone and I have asked if they can replace my diamond with a gemstone so I can wear my halo on special occasions on my right hand (both hands are the same size). To me this makes more sense and will allow me to have both styles
