When I saw these earrings today, I practically fainted. They are absolutely gorgeous: A double marquise diamond drop. *THUD*

I can't picture how large 0.18 will look. Marquises maximize size though.

However, I've been lusting after these in the link below for the longest time. These are similar in design, but H colour instead of I, and they are quite a bit shorter. So short that I think they won't dangle. However, they're probably more sparkly since they're MRB.

Marquise Pros:
Unusual design
Good price for carat weight
Will dangle below earlobe

Marquise Cons:
Not as good for daily wear
Sparkle less than rounds
I-colour.

Round Pros:
Fab for everyday
Maximum sparkle b/c of round cut
Nice thick bezel setting on lower stone
H colour

Round Cons:
Top diamond is a mere 0.04
Chain not quite long enough to dangle.

What to do??

I think the marquise would have been a better everyday wear earring if the top stud were a round instead of marquise. :cheeky: I don't think the I colour is a con since H and I are next to each other on the colour chart and on your ears, nobody can really tell anyway. The sizes are very small though and I would verify how "dangly" both sets are. I would get the mm length measurement because everybody's lobe size differs.

Thanks for your input, Chrono.

The round pair are half an inch long and the marquise pair are an inch. I'm pretty sure the round drop wouldn't be low enough to dangle on me.

I actually prefer the marquise in this style. I have a .19ct marquise at home that's about 5.2mm by 2.75mm, has decent presence on it's own, and would even more with a bezel.

Thanks, MustangGal. You don't have a photo, do you?

Hi,

The size is really small. Go to a shop and check the size. You may want to save up for something larger.

They are both pretty. I like the marquise better than I thought I would. I think the length on the rounds would be too short to dangle, they will be very close to the bottom of your earlobe. The marquise would be more of a dangle earring. The bezel set will make the marquise diamonds look larger. I would try to find something local with that size of stones to see if they are big enough for you.

Tough call. Marquise are different and I love that... And it was my original engagement ring...RB are safe and versatile....hmmm.....

MARQUISE! Live on the edge! Go for something you don't already have! :praise:

I love the marquise earrings! That would be my choice.

I agree with everyone a marquise would be far more dramatic! You only live once!

Hark at everyone enabling me! I like it

As the famous (in the UK) ad for Kipling's cakes went: "Oooh, you ARE naughty...but I like you!"

The marquise ones!

I don't actually, I'll see if I can pull it out and play with it tonight  My original e-ring is a 15 point marquise, even though I don't wear it much any more I have a bit a of soft spot for those little pointy guys!

I love marquises! I have so many round bezeled diamonds I guess I don't need any more. Marquise diamonds it is! Now I just have to make a judgement call as to whether BN will put up the price on these before the Christmas sale! They have alarming price jumps sometimes. A pair of pearl earrings I liked went up by $400 after Christmas, from $1200 to $1600. Ouch.

I snorted out loud - you do, and I want them all!!

I'm late but I'd have voted marquises too. I'm looking forward to seeing some earshots of these lil' guys!

I like the round earrings better so I guess I'm the odd man out. I would prefer the marquise earrings if the top stones were small rounds instead of marquise of the same size.
