Poll: H&A vs. non-H&A (brilliance)

Assuming a diamond is ideal cut (see below), what''s your feeling about H&A and non-H&A ideal diamonds in terms of brilliance and scintillation to naked eyes?
The key here is to"naked eyes", so it is not the difference you may see in Brilliant Scope or ISee2 etc.
AGS 000 or GIA Excellent
HCA score 1.5 or lower

My personal belief is that it is a matter of personal taste. Many like the look of the arrows in an H&A diamond. In certain lighting, it is more pronounced and the arrows also "light up" in orther lighting conditions. Others feel that the arrows bother them and prefer a non H&A diamond. For me, it makes no difference. On some days, I love the look of the arrows and on other days, I prefer a more random look.

Don't quote me on this but I think you'll probably have to pay a slight premium for a H&A stone over a non-H&A stone, even when both are well cut (under 2.0 HCA score).

In terms of brilliance and scintillation, I see no difference.

Unless your right on top of the stone looking at it face down you''ll never know what type of "branded" stone it is, with the exception of a Solafera, all those tiny little facets tend to throw off a LOT of fire.

I know for fact that H&A diamond is more brilliant and sparkle than non-H&A ideal diamond to naked eyes. ACCROSS A WIDE RANGE OF LIGHTING CONDITIONS

in some lighting conditions there will be little to no difference but in others there will be.

Scintillation may be where the biggest difference is because h&a diamonds are generally in most cases well balanced for contrast which provides better scint.

under what type of lighting condition would be the easiest for you to see the difference?

indirect light, soft shifting light (candle), low to med. fluorescent lighting, diffused lighting.

Direct lighting and direct bright sunlight would be the hardest to tell them apart. Bright fluorescent lighting would likely be next.

Which is why jewelery stores uses very bright direct lighting over the cases.
