polishing jade

I recently bought a jade bangle bracelet. It seems dull to me. Is there a way to make sure it is jade and also is there a way to polish it?

for lack of a better way to put it, did you pay enough for it to be real jade?

I just came back from china and there were SO many stores selling jadeite, it was startling!

You can have a gemmologist take a look at it. The RI and looking at the growth under magnification will narrow down the possibility as to whether it is truly jade or a simulant.
