Hi and happy new year.

I understand basic lingo- but it’s been a long time since we bought my .67 AGS 000! I have recently returned to the forums for reeducation.

I’m looking for an upgrade to a nice H&A but probably don’t want to put it towards a branded stone in the 2.8-3+ range. I’m so overwhelmed!

The search engines are helpful for price comparisons, but is there one cert that’s more reliable? Or is the choosing more an art that I should look to someone local to ask?

Thank you in advance
Chris

Hello and welcome back to PriceScope, MentalSoup!
What budget cap are you targeting?

Hello Preferrably under 3000

Plenty to assess/scrutinize and pick from - you could even go a little north of the 4 carat mark, if you wanted to.

MentalSoup have you had a chance to narrow down any yet, or would you prefer some recommendations in the 2.80-3.00 range?

I am back to the drawing board today - as the stone I had originally chose is not available. How often does it happen that a stone continues to be posted after it is purchaseed?

It happens quite a bit which is why once you make a decision, we suggest you contact the vendor right away. The same stones are listed by multiple vendors, and sales happen far faster than updates.

Is 4.xx carats around 10.4mm too big?

The 3.63 F looks darned good...nice proportions, cut precision, and clean HPHT material!

Here's the 4 carat that I found...search the grading report number at the popular seller sites to compare pricing (stat with the seller that I linked the search to earlier in this thread).

Some others that I found:

A little off-center in front of the camera making the arrows appear a little uneven.

Steeper CA and taller crown:
