Hi guys - a newbie here,

Please help give me your thoughts on the following lab diamond I have found on 1215 Diamonds. Here are the general details and a few links - I would hugely appreciate your thoughts :):)

Round brilliant
1.62 ct, H, VS2, Ideal
Polish and Symmetry - Excellent
Fluorescence - None
7.55 x 7.58 x 4.64
Table - 58
Depth - 61.4
Crown angle - 34
Pavilion angle - 41
Girdle - Med to slightly thick

https://certificate.diamondfoundry.com/download/241675.pdf - GIA certified

https://videos.diamondfoundry.com/241675.mp4 - video of the diamond

My girlfriend would love a white gold solitaire setting - she has beautiful olive tan skin so hopefully this diamond will pop on her finger (size N UK, size 7 US)

Would hugely appreciate your thoughts guys :):)

Have you used the HCA tool to check the cut proportions?

Also, that document is not a GIA cert, it’s a sales document from Diamond Foundry. Not sure if that matters to you. A self-reported color H can sometimes be a gamble, and lab stones in particular start to show brown tones at lower color grades rather than yellow like mined diamonds do. I haven’t purchased from Diamond Foundry so I can’t speak to how accurate their grading is. Color sensitivity is also personal and since you’re setting it in white metal that should help brighten the overall appearance.

I would want an actual certificate from IGI or other lab (not a random gemologist who works for the company and therefore has an incentive to overgrade).
