That is true, IF not well/tightly cut. The DiamXray picture shows no leakage, as this is a very well cut stone. Actually a branded stone that just isn''t advertised as such.Date: 4/13/2008 1:36:08 PM

I''ll definitely call GOG for more information.

Pavilion angle is 41.09
Someone told me that Diamond with pavilion angles above 41 can sometimes leak light from the edges of the table.
How to see light performance from picture? I totally have no clue.
Light performance is indicated on the AGS report. This is a true hearts and arrows stone, top quality cut. Everything about it is great. However, it is far below your budget and under 2 cts. My suggestion is to call Jonathan and tell him you want a hearts and arrows stone with ideal light performance, E-G color, VVS2 to VS1, and 2.0-2.25 carats. Just let him find you a stone. There may be one available now or you may have to wait a few weeks. But in my opinion, it would be crazy to settle for a smaller, less well cut stone at Tiffany when you could get a larger, better cut stone for your money. Then have the stone sent to Excel to set in the Tiffany replica solitaire. Incidentally, I have a VS1 from GOG and I cannot see any inclusions with a 10x loupe. So I encourage you to consider VS1.Date: 4/13/2008 1:36:08 PM

I would definitely return the Tiffany ring and go with a Pricescope vendor. I would stop working with JA and work with WF or GOG instead, both of whom have a much better upgrade policy, and offer a lot more information on their diamonds right off the bat.
The Richard Landi setting NeverEnding just posted is stunning, although with your budget, I''d get Leon Mege to make the setting. Here is his web address: ArtofPlatinum.com. His work is amazing, and in my opinion, a setting by Leon Mege is better than any Tiffany ring, without a doubt.
I am not a diamond expert like Ellen, diamondseeker and Lorelei, so I can''t offer much in the way of diamond opinions, but you can be sure that their recommendations are going to be spot on!
If I had your budget, I would definitely be working with Leon too. I think you''ll really like his work, jady.Date: 4/13/2008 4:28:58 PM

You want to send it through the Post Office, registered and insured. It is kept under lock and key (literally), and signed for each time it changes hands. It''s by far the slowest method, but also by far the safest. You can insure up to 25000.00. I know poeople on here have sent more expensive items than that, but I don''t know what they did as far as insuring the difference. May need to call the PO and ask them, or start a new thread.Date: 4/13/2008 5:26:29 PM

pixley: Thank you for the nice words !
thing2of2 and Ellen:
I already fell in love with several Leon Mege''s settings after going through few pages.
My concern is if I let Leon Meg make my ring,I have to send a loose diamond to his company. Will Fedex/UPS fully insure my diamond.(I was told the value only up to $5000)Since my loose diamond may cost 30k-40k,I''m so worry about it.Do I need to write ''diamond'' on UPS/Fedex claim form? One of my friends sent her ring (25k)back to bluenile,Bluenile later said they received an empty box without the ring.Of couse.Bluenile refused to refund my friend.UPS refused to pay nothing either.Since the package arrived at Bluenile without damage.
Ok, just wondering. You won''t write on your package what is in it.Date: 4/13/2008 5:53:42 PM

Yep, or, they also have certain boxes you can buy (cheap) that don''t need to be wrapped, and they will tape it up for you. What I do is get the box, scotch tape the bottom shut, pack, and take to PO. They then retape the bottom and the rest.Date: 4/13/2008 7:39:45 PM

NEVER ship a diamond UPS or Fedex. Only ship it US Mail Registered. UPS and Fedex won''t insure the package for the full value, and as Ellen pointed out, the Registered mail system is very secure. There are strict packing rules, though. You have to wrap your package in plain kraft paper (like a grocery bag) and seal it with paper tape (the kind you get wet) that can get stamped all over with a rubber stamp. That is how they know no one has tampered with it.
Well why wouldn''t we be?Date: 4/14/2008 5:46:11 PM
