we won't believe you until you post pictures of your new furbaby!!!
How exciting! our puppy is approaching 4 months and she is starting to loose her baby teeth. Nothing is safe - toes, baseboards, furniture... YIKES they are like tiny razors!!
OOOOOOOOh!!!! HENRY IS GORGEOUS!!! holy cow he's gonna be a big boy!! Oh, I love that FACE!!!! woooshymooshyshmooshy...whooozaboooootyfulbabyboypuppy????
Ha ha! Tell me more about your pup? Our guy is cute & smart but is obsessed with chomping. He just ate Daddy's leather armchair. I was so mad! Henry will be 95 pounds or so...he's going be a monster. Lol!
She is a very sweet looking chocolate lab - who as of last week weighed 28 lbs ... and we thought THAT was getting heavy!! YIKES - Henry's going to top out around 95?? Have you seen the thread on big dogs love hugs??
I love when they lay on their backs like that --- not a care in the world, relaxing and enjoying the moment!! The chair doesn't look horrendous - just 'distressed'... that's how you spin it --- its a distressed chair!! lol - problem solved!! You are just so avant garde now with your interior design!
Ha ha! Yes, distressed! Actually this picture was what I call Level 1. The latest damage has holes & bite marked all around the armrest. My fault really, it was a chomp waiting to happen. Do you have any tips on what we could try or is this a stage that will pass? I feel bad crating Henry every few hours but it is the only way to save our house, pants, slippers, toes...
Aww, fuzzy wuzzy bear cutems wootems! I WANT Henry! He is adorable - so what if he chews up everything you own - he's so darn cute! And fuzzy! What's going on with his ears - do they stick up?!! Even more adorable!!
They lighten up once they shed the puppy coat. They come in beige (tawny) or Black or Grey (blue/grey)
When Henry was born he looked like a chocolate lab puppy but they lighten up over the weeks following. We have a Tawny with a nice beige-caramel colour & dark nose.
Grey is a fairly rare. Grey-born Briards are called blue, and black-born Briards that turn grey, which are called grey.
I think that just has to be a DOG thing - Ava our 6 year old lab does that, as does Zeus the 10 y.o. Airedale and Lily - the puppy - she LURVES a good clump of snow and a piece of bark!!
Ha ha, yes, I too think it strange that they like a dusty piece of bark. Surely they must know the diffidence between a treat and a piece of dirt! Henry runs proudly with a piece of bark for hours. Doggy beef "jerky" or "chewing tabacco"???!
I'm so sorry for my terrible manners, posting and then disappearing on you guys like that. It seems like my days are divided between running after my 1.5 year old toddler and my 8 month old 80 pound puppy! Oh man, let me just say that it is a huge job to take care of a big dog. I wonder who had the crazy idea to get a big puppy...oh wait, that would be me! ha ha! He's a sweet and loving but he is a chomping monster. We have to replace all our kitchen and living room baseboards AND I've given up growing anything nice in our garden. He eats anything green. NO MATTER THE TASTE! His favourite snack is my chives. I call it his CHIA PET! ha ha!
HIs ears are finally free and relaxed. Such a shame the breeder talked us into glueing the ears. I felt so bad for doing it but we were inexperienced and told that it would help for ear infections. Mixed reviews. Luckily he was never in pain or appeared to be uncomfortable. He was always bouncy and happy. In fact between glueing sessions he would shake his head confused as to say...what is flopping on my head like that?! Basically 1 inch of hair is glued with fabric glue from one ear to another and it grows apart over 6 weeks. The process is then repeated after a week until the ears stand up straight. I'm glad it's over because I did feel guilty... He does look handsome now! My boy!!!
Henry finally graduated from puppy school. To be honest I think they were happy to see us leave. He was the most obnoxious and goofy puppy in the class. Henry wanted to play and the teacher wanted to teach...you get the idea. I'm proud of him for doing his best.
Without further ado...here they are...my special toddler and his puppy Henry!
