Please weigh in on purchase! These don't have the radiance of my natural ER stone, is this a good purchase?

Hi all! I just received a pair of 6 ctw studs (lab grown) but these don't have the radiance that my natural (flawless) engagement ring stone does when I compare the studs and the ring side-by-side.

What do you think of these stones? Should I return them for an Ideal cut?

When I ordered them, I was so certain that I'd have an issue with the J color if anything. But turns out I don't mind the color at all! I am a skeptical of the radiance and cut though. What do you think?

I'd be so grateful for your opinion on these stones, thanks in advance!

These stones are a 60/60 style cut, which are not to everyone's taste. Do you have the specs of your engagement ring stone? Definitely return these stones if you don't like the way they perform! Where did you buy them from? We can help you find better cut stones.

@Kim N Thank you for taking the time to respond! What cut should I be looking for when picking a replacement?

I would look at ones with close to these parameters and ask for an Ideal-Scope image to assess light return.

depth 60-62.4%
table 54-58%
crown angle 34-35 degrees (can go up to 35.5 or 36 if paired with 40.6 pavilion)
pavilion angle 40.6-40.9 degrees

Generally, a shallower crown angle will pair better with a steeper pavilion angle and vice versa.

If you let us know your budget, we can help you look.

This stone, for example, would perform better than the other ones.

When I was looking at getting a pair of LG diamond studs, it honestly got a bit overwhelming and I'm so happy I reached out to Jon at Distinctive Gems! Gave him my criteria, my budget, and *boom*, he selected two exquisite , perfectly matched lab grown daimonds that met AGS 000 standards, and vetted the stones for things like stria causing haziness issues (which I found common among the lab grown diamonds I was seeing at places like Helzberg, etc.).

Diamonds by Lauren would also be worth reaching out to, and if not, as Kim N said, give us a budget and desired specs and I'm certain a few people on here would love to aid you in the hunt!
