Hello,

I've been a long time lurker on this site and have been in touch with a number of PS vendors wrt a ring for my fiancée-to-be!

I was hoping to get honest opinions on this stone before finalizing anything. I can see that it is a shallower cut than most, but the IS images do look promising. Is there anything you see that I don't? Should I be concerned about the inclusions being too visible?

Thank you for your help!

Have you asked if the stone is eye clean and by what standards that was determined?

thanks for your response Christina! The vendor (ID Jewelry) has confirmed that the diamond is 100% eye clean.

Do you see any other issues with it? Durability, light return etc?

Bumping in hopes of getting responses...I am hoping to give the jeweler a response ASAP. Thank you all for the help!

As long as it's eye clean, it looks good. If the price is right, go for it. No issues w/ the images.

I don't see any issues with the images either. The only bit of advice that I can give as to the clarity, is that there is no industry standard as to what 'eye clean' means, for many vendors it's from 10 inches in natural light in the face up position, others a bit further or closer, and yet others determine it 'at first glance'. I believe 'at first glance' is how IDJ defines it, so if your definition is different than that then you should clearly state that and tell them precisely what YOU consider eye clean. :))

This is definitely something to take into consideration... I would call IDJ and double check with them. :))

I would also ask for a magnified photo of the diamond.

thank you Christina and msop04! the jeweler has sent through a 40 x zoom image (attached).

price for the diamond is $6100.

I'm pretty confident this diamond looks great - any last minute advice or should I go ahead with the purchase?

Thanks!

Sorry Hami!! Glad you bumped it!

To me, this would be eye clean enough for purchase! It's a really pretty stone! =)

Very nice, I hope you got it!

It looks good to me too!

Thanks msop04, aprilbaby & tyty333! I really appreciate your input and will finalize the purchase tomorrow :appl:

I've just been reading through another thread here on PS that mentions clarity based on "clouds not shown" is a huge red flag in SI diamonds.

I've attached the full GIA report to this thread, and as you can see it also mentioned "Clouds not shown"

Is this something that changes everyone's reco's to move forward with this stone? Do the magnified photo of the diamond along with the IS images help alleviate concerns?

Please help! Thank you!
