I was really gunning for a square-cut ring, but this weekend my boyfriend and I went ring shopping and I really loved some of the fatter/wider marquise. They were so elongating and sophisticated. I''d love to see your pics! Thanks!

Have you tried out a marquise with sidestones ?

There aren''t too many this long (this is nearly 3:1 l/w, 1 carat blue from Herskovits&Polnauer). Those sides should be step cut half moons, I guess. David at Diamonds by lauren calls those ''home plate diamonds'' - and that''s not far from the truth
