are you interested in this kind of setting? some think it is uncomfortable, and some it does not bother them, I think it depends on the setting, I have a Fakey ring and its uncomfortable, but when I went to Jared to try on the Scott Kay ring as pictured above, it is very subtle and VERY comfortable to wear. Just a suggestion if you are interested to shop around and try one on, different variations, may have different "sharpness" to them imo and online sometimes it is hard to judge.

Here is my knife edge solitaire. The knife edge is pronounced around the centre diamond, then becomes more subtle and almost flatens out on the sides and palmar surface of the ring. I tried on the classic Tiffany setting (several times) and as beautiful as it is, I found it a bit uncomfortable.

It''s hard to tell from the picture that mine is a knife edge, but it is. I don''t find it uncomfortable at all.

My solitaire also has a knife edge. The shank is 18K yellow gold and the head is platinum.
