Numbers look good. Ask for the IS/ASET from the vendor, if available.

Thanks very much, the HCA score is 1.4. Is it too high?

Also how about the price, is it reasonable?

Thanks again for your great help!

No, HCA is a rejection too, a score below 2 is good for further evaluation with other tools, too low a score might have other problems. Generally, people prefer stones with score between 1-2.

The diamond has great potential, the HCA score is absolutely fine, the HCA isn''t used for selection anyway but rejection, selection is done with idealscope or ASET images which is the next step here. To use the HCA look for stones which score below 2 and for a ring stone between 1 and 2 is the sweet spot, then evaluate from there. Stones which score between 2 and 3 in some cases can also be worth a further look if they have top symmetry.

Doing an online price check, price is reasonable for that size, color and clarity.

I am no expert, but I like the cut and color spec of your stone. Just a question about personal preference. Do you think VVS1 is overkill? If you downgrade the clarity by 2 steps to VS1, you will not likely find any inclusions even with a 10x-40x loupe. I have a VVS2 stone, and I can''t see inclusions with a high magnification microscope. If you do not mind going down to VS1 or VS2, you can save $$$ or get a much larger stone.

Thanks for your advice! We are specifically looking for a 2.26C for a sentimental reason. This is the only one we have found with good specs. Others have G or H color (My eye is quite color sensitive and can tell the color difference between G and F)
We are still trying to find other 2.26C and hopefully we can have more options.
Thanks again for contributing your advice again!
