Let me add, that I have personally seen stones 2, 3 and 4. Here are a few notes

Stone 2 - Did not look like a VS2 to me or at least it didn''t look as clean as stones 3 and 4. There was a fairly large black inclusion visible under the loop and a few white marks that looked like nicks. the girdle also had a few black marks. Didn''t appear to sparkle as much as 3 and 4, but it could have been the lighting.

Stone 3 - Although marked SI1, this looked cleaner than stone 2. It showed no black inclusions under the loop and had a few white marks that looked like nicks. Dealer said this could easily be a VS2. It has nice color and sparkle. I was surprised it scored so bad on the HCA

Stone 4 - This one is nice because it is big. Not quite as white as stone 3, but still pretty nice. No bad inclusions either....just a few marks. I was surprised it scored so bad on the HCA

Thanks!

1. did you use a variety of lights (and never up close to the dealers desk light - no no)
2. Did you cover the pavilion so no ''leakage'' light colud get in?
3. do not try to out grade the professional clarity graders - your opinion counts for little as you can never learn enough other than to make yourself feel good. There can be clouds and all sorts of things you might never see
