I am planning on asking my gf to marry me in a few months. She doesn''t want a solitare for an engagement ring she wants a band, I think she would love the Tiffany''s Etoile ring, that is $11,000...

Now my question is that is this going to be too bulky, because we need to get wedding bands also. And is there another ring that is similiar with a lower price??

Please help...

Oops! That pic is not from WF. Here's the one I meant to attach (although the other is beautiful as well!)....

Boy, that design is nice Juniorpatch. What size stone will $11,000 get you at Tiffany. You can probably get more bang for the buck with one of the vendors listed here. Unless you're set with Tiffany.
Good Luck, and congrats on the upcoming proposal.

So you're looking for pave set diamonds. I'll get back to you in a minute--I think there are some posted here....

These aren't quite so large so you could pair them with a wedding band....

Although I think this one comes the closest (and is still half the price):

Although no one can say for certain, it's rumored that D. Vatche (the designer of the last setting) designs the settings for at least the T&C Lucida setting. So, it's also quite likely that this could be the same designer, just using his name rather than the T&C label....

Beautiful choice, BTW! For a wedding band you can always get the smaller version and then your girl can have MAJOR bling on her finger!!! Then again, why not get a pretty band that she can wear separately (e-ring on the right hand, wedding band on the left)? There are so many options!!!

And here's a great example if you were to surprise her with a set! Last one I promise!!!

I looked at those D.Vatche, they look really nice. (I just want to say that this website is great and you have given me some great ideas, I can't thank you enough) I wonder if the total weight/cut/clarity is the same?? Is $5,000 too small of an amount to spend for an engagement ring, I heard 2 months salary is customary???

What do you think the differences are between tiffanys and d vatche?

I'm sure the cut/weight/clarity are as close as can be (each ring will differ slightly no matter where you purchase it). As for an amount being too small to spend, I don't think it matters if you're getting her the EXACT ring of her dreams! And honestly, just because you get a deal shouldn't mean that you have to spend more

But, if you're feeling really generous you can always get her a bracelet, earrings, or necklace to boot! Oh, and as for the difference between T&C and Vatche, I would say cost and the name stamped on the inside of the ring. They both offer amazing guarantees, and you can't go wrong with the workmanship of either (like I said before, it's possible Vatche makes the T&C settings). Does this help at all? I hope so!

That last solitare that you posted is very nice, where is that one?

I found it on the Vatche website:

Any of the vendors who carry Vatche can get this for you :-)

Also, on WF I found this setting which I think is beautiful and would look lovely with the small or medium pave band:

Thank you for your help..
I think I like that Platinum Eternity Band 1.70 ct.
But when buying from the internet how do I know the exact size??

I wish I could see it in person.

You can go to local B&M shops that carry the Vatche brand, or go see the T&C ring (it's also 5 rows, and I'm guessing the same weight). Or, if you talk to Denise (or someone else) they can give you the ring in mm so you can better compare their widths

I just emailed Denise(I called her Debbie oops..

Thanks again for your help, I hope she can help me out
I think the Tiffany's ring is a little over-priced

The T&C is WAY overpriced! Denise will help you out, and help you to feel really good throughout the entire ring buying purchase. Tell her Summer says "hi"!

I will tell her you said hi.
Thanks again for the help
Off to watch the tail-end of the NBA Playoff
(The things I do for my GF, missing the game and everything to look for a ring,, JUST KIDDING, she is so worth it)

Glad to hear she's worth it! My B/F and I are TiVoing the game as we speak--there's no way he'd pass up watching the game for me! He loves me and all, but that's pushing it

I like this concept--I have a friend who got an 8 ct RB eternity band as an engagement ring...I think the stones were about 40 pts each and F-G, VS...very cool and certainly a lot more expensive than many solitaires, as you are proving with this choice.

Good luck--I love the concept and think it is great! Alhtough, I suppose I am just a wee bit biased since I collect wedding bands....

My husband says I could have had the Hope Diamond by now...uh, not quite (I was impressed he knew what the Hope Diamond was...)

Your collection of bands is AMAZING!!!

I'm hoping to get a 5 stone shared prong princess as my wedding band, but the more bands I see the more I want for my right hand!

researcher -- that second picture of the half bezel you posted -- where is it from? i can't find the photo on whiteflash anywhere, but I like the ring.

Juniorpatch,

There is an eBay store that I really like that has several pave eternity bands you may be interested in seeing. Their prices are reasonable, and they have a very good reputation. The eBay store is called 5th-ave-jewels. Let me know what you think.
