It's got all the right numbers which means it should* be a lovely stone.

I hate the way some of JA videos look (they just dont show the stone very well). I dont know why some videos look different
from others.

This stone is showing paddles in the arrow area. Not sure what is causing that.

Here is a thread related to "paddles". Paddles would not be acceptable to me. I would want arrows not paddles. You can
probably talk to JA about it and see what they have to say.

I would really recommend J VS2 over K VVS any day. You will see the color more than clarity. Stones take on environmental tint..there are times that my I color stone takes on color and it definitely bothers me.

Please post the idealscope image for the stone since the stone image is not clear.

I agree with all of this. The numbers do look good, but for some reason the stone looks pretty lifeless in the video. I'm not sure if it is due to the video being taken in a different way, but I have seen stones with a lot more life to them. Here is an example of a stone that I had in my possession that was really pretty, and in the video you can see far more flashes of light giving the stone a twinkly look.

The video of your stone makes it look more dull, but I suspect it has to do with differences in how the videos were taken. I would like to see an ASET of your stone, though I would guess you don't have one as JA does not provide them for rounds?

One of the customer service agent has told me that "It may be a trick of the video. Those are angles of the bottom facets reflecting. It looks to me as if the lighting setup was just the tiniest bit off the day the diamond was photographed"

They told me that they always have their diamond inspected before mounting so I had made them a note if they could email me regarding what they thought and if it matches certificate. Hoping the best!

I'm really hoping that it's just the bad lighting or whatever in video' lol I'm really ing hoping that it is as good as the # as it shows. JA customer service agent mentioned "it may be a trick of the video. Those are angles of the bottom reflecting." And that he thinks he's sure the lighting set up was off that day and that could be the reason...

Honestly, if it was me I would want to see the stone prior to it being set, regardless of that the reps say. I would like to see it with my own eyes and if I felt necessary, the eyes of an independent appraiser prior to it going into the ring. But that is just me. Are you in a time crunch or not?

I know me too! But I'm so glad that they have a FREE return policy 30 days. I did mentioned that if they could contact me before setting it to think what they thought and if it matched certificate, they said they always inspect it before setting so it keeps me at ease a bit. I do believe that photos/videos sometimes can be misleading so that's why I feel like it can be worth a risk but really wanted to hear opinions. Thank you lots!! :)
 
Inspecting it to make sure it matches the report is one thing... Inspecting the cut and the paddles vs arrows is another. I wouldn't be worried about it matching the report, I'd be worried about the look of the stone. I would ask VERY specifically what you want them to look for when they inspect it. I would ask for a gemologist to inspect it and check for obstruction issues and to look at the paddles specifically. Ask them to compare it to an AGS 0 of similar size if one is available and to explain the visual difference between the two.

When I bought a stone from them I asked to have the gemologist look at the color before sending it to me. Apparently it wasn't clear that I wanted them to contact me with their opinion of the color before shipping. When I asked why they didn't discuss the color with me like I had asked they said "the gemologist confirms everything before shipping". I was expecting to be contacted specifically with their opinion of the color grade, but they never did contact me. That is why I am advising you to be very specific on what you want them to look at for you if you are going to depend on their opinion and not look at the stone yourself before it is set.

Did you end up liking the diamond? How did it go ?
 
The diamond was very pretty but I did not keep it. The color, which is what concerned me, is what caused me to return it. It looked in the video to have more tint than most other I color stones and looked comparable to J color stones. I ordered a second GIA graded stone (the James Allen stone was AGS graded) and the two looked the same against a white background. I think it was a borderline J stone that got graded as an I so it was priced as an I and the value wasn't there for me and I returned it. Return process was super easy. Took maybe a week after they received my return for them to send me a check. They were always super nice and helpful but I do feel like they didn't want to admit the stone was borderline because they didn't want to lose a sale. But I should have been more clear that I wanted the gemologist to contact me specifically about the color when they got the diamond in.

Yup well mines is indeed also borderline from not the US. And they admitted it to me & told me they can't call me to have those reviews that I needed? I'm so confused but they said that it'll still be inspected. I don't get it? Like it's going to be inspected yet they don't want to call me to follow up on it? Ugh
