Hi everyone! Newbie here. I know nothing about diamonds and wanted to see if there is someone able to help me. I’m trying to find some MMD stud earrings 1.5-2cttw. I’m so overwhelmed as I’m going from site to site x100. Im not sure if I should purchase preset diamonds studs or is it better idea to find them loose and then set them? From what I have read Cut is most important so whatever you guys think… it doesn’t matter if it’s a more expensive pair as long as it shines. Thank you sooo much!!

Lightbox seems very popular around here for lab diamonds. You might want to do a search on here to see the thead/s about them.

I bought loose Lightbox 2carat round brilliant stones(4 ct. total weight) for four prong studs. They were 1600 per stone/discounted 2880 for both, another 225 to set from local jeweler. I honestly could NEVER have afforded G-H, excellent cut stones in this size at the price I paid. I had my local jeweler look at them and appraise them before I had them set.
A ring-I'd definitely want 'ideal' cut but a great pair of excellent cut stones for earrings is a great choice in my opinion. Set your budget and go from there. Or set your parameters, cut, carat, colour, and go from there....good luck! I know it's overwhelming but fun, too :)

Suggestions for LB are good if you want quick, cheap, and easy.
LB also has a "Finest" lineup that meets colorless and very high clarity grades.

If it were me, I would prefer to shop for my own loose diamonds that would fall into my preferred criteria for growth method, 4Cs, and proportions and angles ranges.

If you provide us your budget, we can better assist you.

Yup, I'm the same way

Here are two 0.8x diamonds that I would not hesitate to purchase, if I were shopping for some earrings with diamonds that leaned a bit towards fiery to get my wife.

I'm gonna keep my eyes on those puppies.Anything out there similar closer to $2k?

Another pair to consider:

Here you go!

This is already an awesome pair, but in case you wanted to go to D color:

Also, do you guys think the white gold prongs are better than yellow gold? Or is it personal preference? I wear alot of yellow gold jewelry but I notice that white gold is the more popular option.

Completely your preference.
What kind of prong style are you gravitating towards?
Were you wanting a Modern Round Brilliant cut, or a different shape?

Yes the round brilliant cut. I'm debating between the 4 prong or the 3 prong martini.

I love how minimalist the 3-prong martini is, like the diamond is floating on your ear, and also how the diamond looks rounder in 3 prongs compared to 4.

Yes! The martini's are most likely the top choice! I hope those earrings you guys picked will still there January 1st. LOL I maxed out my spending for December =( I so appreciate the help!!!!!!

One more option, if you don't mind having some warmth in your diamonds.
These would likely be equivalent to GIA J-K-L color, so expect a somewhat noticeable tinting, especially when viewed from the side profile.
There is some potential risk for visible striations/graining since these are CVD method diamonds, plus there no way to tell if they lean yellowish, grayish, brownish, or pinkish without seeing pictures and videos, so you may want to see if you can ask for those.

Here are the 18K gold settings - 3 prong martini and 4 prong:

All in all, I would probably sacrifice a bit of spread to go with one of the pairs of colorless D or E diamonds growth with the HPHT method posted above, which is the growth method that I prefer.
