Hi All!

First off, just wanted to thank everyone for contributing their tremendous wealth of knowledge and expertise. I've been poking around for awhile and find it very helpful.

For some background, I'm looking for a round cut diamond and am focused primarily on cut, but would like a eye-clean, colorless to the naked eye diamond. Somewhat flexible on price but looking around $20K and would like to get as close to 2ct as possible.

After some looking for awhile, I thought the diamond below fit my specifications pretty well (and will see it in person), but was hoping to get some more informed opinions. It's priced at $19,790. Certainly open to any other / better suggestions - thanks!!!

Beautiful choice. You can put it on hold and request and Idealscope.

With your budget, you could get this super-ideal. You lower the color to H, but super-ideas 'hide' body color a lot more IMHO. WF has a more generous tradeup and buyback policy than JA giving you 100% of the stone value on tradeup (no restrictions). JA requires the tradeup is 2x cost of the initial diamonds.

Also, the JA stone you choose is smaller in face up 7.94 mm compared to this WF at 8.01 mm.

You could ask WF to show you a face up and side-view of this diamond and a GIA G. I've seen super-ideal J's with a solid white faceup.

The stone you posted should be a good performer. The numbers are good, although it is not the most precision cut stone. As you can see, the shape and size of the arrows are not uniform. There is something going on at 8:00.
Ask for the Idealscope image.

At the same time, put this one on hold.

Once you get the idealscope image, you can decide between these two.

For that chunk of change, you should have a better, eye clean stone, esp at or over 2.0ct. This is a bit over your budget, but JA has great discounts for PSers...

@Matthews1127 I saw this one too, but I can't get that 12'oclock arrow to light up. Maybe its a photo effect, but I'm not seeing any other obvious tilt in the video.

OP - JA will only give you 3 IS images per email from which the request is sent.

@rockysalamander: great catch!!! It MAY be the tilt, but an ASET/IS will be necessary to rule that out...

No photo or other visual aids are available. You’ll have to contact the vendor for those....

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I've asked for idealscope images for the JA diamonds and added them to the ones I have on hold to see in person. I've also taken a peek at a few of the WF ACAs.

Originally I wanted to get a WF ACA, but wasn't sure how much value I was giving up for the ACA branding / customer service. That said, those look decently priced and have me very intrigued.

I am curious though - how big a difference will an H color vs. a G color be? Originally, I was shopping for an F color but decided there wasn't a huge difference, and so this would be moving 2 notches down. That said, I really don't know if it makes a huge difference. Really open to any suggestions / guidance here - thanks!!

Thanks again for the help!

I just received the idealscope image for this diamond (JA SKU 2628600), which is the first one I've posted below.

They also suggested another diamond (JA SKU 3446713...https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...h-color-vs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-3446713), for which they've also shared the idealscope image, which is the second image I've posted.

The third diamond was suggested in this thread (JA SKU 3590458...https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...rat-g-color-vs2-clarity-ideal-cut-sku-3590458), for which the idealscope image is available at the link.

Any thoughts on either idealscope images?

JA 2628600 has leakage under the table, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock, Center, right between the arms of the arrows.
I like JA3446713, and suggestion #3: AGS0
Not too keen on placement, location and nature of some of the inclusions in these stones, but they’re not “bad”, clarity-wise.

Hey did you purchase a stone? Also, would you consider another popular shape if the cut was good?
