Looking for some creative help. About 5 years ago I inherited a diamond, not great quality, but tons of sentimental value. This was before I discovered the wonderful world of Pricescope. So I went to the local jeweler and had it turned into a bezeled pendant with a halo. Very cookie cutter. It came out fine and I wear it practically every day because it means so much to me. But I don''t love it. And there are definitely some design flaws; it flips all the time. And because the bezel is stationary, when the chain moves, the pendant is off center around my neck.
So I''m not sure whether to just leave it alone, or try to do something different with it. I have thought about everything from a fancy yellow halo, to "unbezeling" it. I just don''t know and I am not very creative. I am posting a few pics, any ideas on how to give it more character or make it better would be really appreciated. Links or pics are greatly appreciated too. Thanks so much!!

Funny, Lesley is exactly who I am working with!! But I feel like I need to give at least some sort of direction on what I want. Too bad I really have no idea . . . . just something prettier, more sparkley and more character!

oh there are so many options out there! hehe. were you looking for a diamond or colored stone bezel? or maybe set into a certain type of pendant?

not sure what your taste is, but just throwing some ideas from stuller.com

Pretty ideas D&T!
Thanks Packrat- its been fun poking around for ideas to live vicariously through others ...lol, hope it helps some though.

Those are some beautiful ideas that D&T posted. I really like the YG one in the first post

Would you consider keeping the stone in the bezel setting and just changing the bale to one at the time that your chain can slide through? Many pendants that are attached to chains flip and travel to the side of the neck. Both of mine do. You definetly need to find another way for the pendant to hang from the chain.

Thanks to Metromom for starting this topic and D&T for the great ideas. I am mulling a pendant as well and love looking!

A question for pendant owners: does a pendant with a bale (I presume that''s the little loop that it hangs from?) flip less than a one that is attached to the chain like Metromom''s original?

You are awesome. Thanks so much for the great pics and ideas. I am totally in love with a bunch of the ones you posted. I think I know that I definitely need a bale insead of having the pendant attached to the chain stationary. I also really really like the concept of having a non round pendant even though the diamond is round. The funky yellow gold one in the first picture is beautiful. This gives me a great start to at least be able to show the designers what types of style I like. Keep the ideas coming!!

Metromom,
What is the size or carat weight of your diamond? I am also thinking about setting my 1.12 carat RB diamond in a pendant. Although I want to keep the design simple, I want a pendant that is large enough so that my diamond looks bigger and that there is enough realestate/weight to keep the pendant from flipping and/or sliding. Yes, the bale/anchor may help, but I doubt if it is 100% flip-free.

and another. hope this helps, can''t wait to see what you come up with

I wish I knew. It was an inherited stone that came out of a wedding ring with absolutely no information. If I had to guess, I would say it is no bigger than a half carat. Although I will say, with the bezeled halo, it practically doubled the size in appearance.
