Hi all

How does this marquise look? Does it have any potential? How can I tell if it's mushy or crisp? I see much white in aset. Is that a normal amount for marquise or is it overly white? I was searching for more antique looking marquise on other sites that sell vintage but cannot find one with color and clarity I want. I love that band of broad facets in middle of antique oval/marquise but cannot find it in modern marquise. Since I know I want a band of broad facets in centre I went for bow tie. I am sure they aren't the same but I like broader facets instead of splintery ones.

If it's not good, can you please link me to a good one. Budget mid 2k, F color and better, only IF clarity (Yes I know it's very limiting).

Thanks in advance.

Tyty, thanks for your selections. I love the first (781175) of your ideal choices. It looks amazing when it rotates in the video but it's slightly smaller than I hope for. The budget is 2.5k. Is it possible for you to help me find a slightly larger one in this budget? Thank you.

Oops, saw the $2k but missed the "mid".

Remember to look at LxW for size and not carat weight. The one you originally posted was 8.27x4.63. I think all the ones I posted were longer but
maybe not as wide.

New ones...

Long but thin

This one is long but thin...

Cover budget but nice

I have to run but give me your GFs finger size and I'll post some size comparisons when I get back.

Hi Tyty, thanks for the new selections. I see that they are all larger which is good. I know preference is subjective and all these look nice but none is as lovely as your first ideal choice (781175). Which among these has a similar cut or sparkle pattern to 781175? I cannot really tell? They all look the same to me  This is how bad I'm at selecting marquise.

I am a size 6.5 and have no idea how to set it yet as I just discovered that JA has no simple setting for marquise. I wanted to buy all at the same place.

Thanks in advance. :))

If you click on their solitaire settings, you can choose which shape stones will fit. These are just the first 4 in their range, there are probably others too, you just need to check to see if there are any you like. :)

You can pick any marquise and select "Select Diamond" and it will bring up a little selection box where you can pick "Add this to a ring".

It will then show you only the rings that can hold a marquise. Like Austina posted, there are a few simple ones.

Ok, so I think this is the one most similar to 781175.

Here is what the size would look like on a 6.5 finger, 2mm shank
The one on the left is 2152208, the one on the right is 781175

Let me check one other website to see what they have.

Thank you Austina for finding the settings. I don't know how I missed them.

Tyty, thanks for the comparisons. It appears there isn't much difference in a few points of weight. I think I will get one of the recommended from JA since it's easier to see their videos. Thanks again for all your help :))
