After reading up on all the tutorials, I''m still not 100% sure on how to interpret the ideal scope images especially for the in-betweens. Based on what I know, the arrows are relatively well-formed and dark black which indicate good symmetry and light reflection from the top. There is some light leakage at the girdle but I''m not sure whether it''s considered excessive. The image is red but not dark and rich enough. Does it mean the light return is not very high?

Dark black arrows has nothing to do with light reflection from the top.

There is some light leakage at the girdle but I'm not sure whether it's considered excessive. The slight leakage at the girdle contributes to scintillation

The image is red but not dark and rich enough. Does it mean the light return is not very high? Actually, that's quite dark and rich... don't pay attention to the intensity of red, which is going to depend on the lighting and photography techniques as much as quantity of light return.
If anything, I see a little bit of leakage under the table. Very minor, won't make it any less of a beauty.

Thanks JulieN! I read somewhere that blacks are light reflected directly from the top, while reds are reflected at an angle. Now I''m confused

Does that mean the diamond has good light returns? This is the first time I''m buying a diamond and I plan to use it in the e-ring for my gf. These are the specs of the diamond for completeness. I paid $3200 for it.

Looks like you have found a winner and lovely IS too!

Ah, yes, well, black would be light from 0-25 degrees. Generally, though, the black would represent an observer''s head that is blocking light.

I thought "from the top" just meant...not from the back.

Yes, this diamond has good light return. I don''t think you''ll be disappointed.

It looks fabulous to me...can''t see why it missed being classified ACA! That means you''re getting a better deal, though!

Thanks for the reassurances. I''m really anxious yet excited to see how the ring will turn out. I actually missed out on a similar sized ACA diamond and had to "settle" for this. Now I''m glad I waited a bit longer or I never would have discovered this great value! I never thought buying a diamond involves so much hard work!
