This is my first post and I'm in need of some expert advice please. I am SO confused!
I'm in the UK but planning to purchase a diamond from a US.
I'm changing my engagement ring of 13 years to a diamond solitaire and am seeking the right stone to have set here in the UK.
Really I'm trying to achieve close to 7mm if possible.
Eye clean and really SI1 or above
Around 1.25 plus carat but the dimensions are more important
Excellent cut
Colour - I have been searching for H or above but I'm having this stone set in Yellow gold band with platinum head and I've had advice that a J would be fine in this setting - I need advice here if I may? Obviously I can get a larger quality stone in J than a higher colour grade but i dont want to spend the rest of my years thinking the stone looks very yellow??? Much as I love the platinum I need to stick to yellow gold as all of my other jewellery is yellow!
I'm going for a plain 2mm tiffany style setting.
My budget for the diamond is around $8000 which I know is asking a great deal for the spec above! I'd like to spend less but am pretty flexible for the right stone. Basically I'm after a great stone and a good price!?!
I've found JA very helpful thus far. I have no idea about GOG or Whiteflash or BlueNile but I feel like the images on JA are reassuring in that you can actually view the stone in all profiles.
I would REALLY appreciate any help in sourcing a lovely new dIamond for my left hand
Also, views on 7mm please? I have pretty short size 6 fingers and I'm in the UK where big rocks aren't too common. Is 7mm going to look too flashy? I'm really not a flashy person - I just love my bling!!!
