Hi friends,

I have been tirelessly researching diamonds on various websites (but looking to buy from bluenile) for the past several weeks but can't seem to find the perfect diamond for my significant other. Either I am finding a diamond that meets the Tolkowsky measurements or has great cut, clarity, color, etc. but none that have both and are in my price range.

My biggest priority is making sure that the diamond looks big and is very shiny. My budget is $25-28k and below is the criteria that I have been searching for.

Please let me know if you know how I can adjust my search criteria but still purchase a quality stone in my budget.

Looking for:
Size: 2ct+
Cut: Signature Ideal
Clarity: VS1 and better
Color: G and better
Florescence: None

depth - 60 - 62%
table - 54- 57%
crown angle - 34- 35 degrees
pavilion angle - 40.6- 41 degrees
girdle - avoiding extremes
polish and symmetry - very good and above

Example of diamond not purchased due to crown and pavilion angles not meeting Tolkowsky reqt's:
Carat: 2.01
Color: G
Clarity: VS1
Cut: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None

Table: 58%
Depth: 60.6%
Crown Angle: 32 degrees (not complimentary to angle range for pavilion)
Pavilion Angle: 41.2 degrees
Medium to slightly thick girdle

Thanks very much.

I would be hesitant to buy from any vendor who did not provide me images of the stones. The one pfunk listed looks nice.

Actually, that "non Tolk" stone you listed could be a real stunner and nicer for some tastes. Certainly I would want to see this in person alongside so-called super ideals.

Thank you all for your replies.

A few follow up questions:

Is enchanted diamonds a reliable vendor to purchase from? Seems like a better option than bluenile since they show you images of the stones.

Also other than the criteria I listed above, are there any other factors that I should evaluate when purchasing the diamond?

Thanks again.

I bought my stone from them and had a great experience. Ended up with a gorgeous diamond and my local appraiser confirmed it was at a very fair price. I'd ask for Joshua when you are in contact with them.
