Please help rate this Diamond! ASET Image~

Hi I am new here, but the wealth of information provided here is amazing and incredibly useful! I was looking at this 1 carat diamond from a local jeweler and was wondering what you thought about it. I had posted this in the synthetics section, but I was told I could get a better response posting here. I hope that's ok!

HCA came out with a 2

The specs are:
1 Carat, F, SI1, Excellent (But the comments on the IGI says "Ideal cut round brilliant"?)

Depth: 60.6
Table: 59
Crown Angle: 34.5
Pavilion Angle: 40.9

passes the ASET test.
Nice 60/60 style stone.
IGI grading of color and clarity is not up to the same standards as GIA/AGS
IGI US being the worse of them, IGI international has a bit better reputation.

Thanks so much for your input! Yeah it's unfortunate that the reputable companies don't work with synthetics.. But this one was rated in Belgium, so I guess that's a plus!

It's a lab grown diamond, all carbon~ The jeweler had it shipped in because all the others in the store had poor aset images, so I'm really hoping this one is the one

As long as you are aware of the pros and cons of purchasing lab-grown vs earth mined and understand that there is very little value on the secondary market for a lab-grown stone (unless the retailer is willing to purchase it back from you), then go for it. Otherwise, in this sub-forum, you’ll find that most of us will be suggesting that you purchase a naturally mined diamond instead of a lab-grown one.

Yes! I'm aware their resale value is quite poor and have considered that. The jeweler has a 60 day return policy so I'm hoping that will be enough for her to know whether it is a keeper

Diamonds in general have a very poor resale value, although there are always exceptions. No one knows what will happen in the future though. My experience is that lab diamonds have a resale value comparable to mined stones. The difference is that there is no market for lab stones. By market, I mean a place you can walk into and get an offer and walk out with money. Even e-Bay is not a great place to sell a mined stone.
