I think I may have found the one, but I want some advice from all of you pros! Here are the specs:
2.01 carat
F
SI1
Princess cut
polish: very good
symmetry: very good
7.18 X 7.01 X 4.79
depth % - 68.3%
table % - 74%
girdle - thin to medium
comes with an EGL certification. I have heard that EGL cert''s can sometimes be off by 1-2 grades in color ... and sometimes off by clarity as well. However, I have received pictures of the diamond, and it seems to be very clean. The only inclusion is a feather near the table. There are not any dark inclusions, which was very important to the future Mr. Fish Out of Water!
I was going for the largest size (preferable around 2 carat), the highest color, and an eye clean stone. Of course, I wanted the stone to have that "fire," which I have been told by the sales rep that this stone has. The company I may buy this stone from has a return policy in case it does not meet my expectations.
The cost of this diamond is rather pricey (for my budget) at $10,500. However, I think it is a very good price for this stone.
Any thoughts? I want to show you some pics as well. I attached a pic to this message and I will attach some more if it works. The first pic was taken inside and the next one I will attach was taken outside.
I want to know the following:
(a) whether any of you think this is a good price for the stone;
(b) whether a table feather poses any concerns;
(c) any other thoughts you may have for a newbie like me that is nervous about making such a large purchase!
I also plan on having it independently appraised as soon as I get it.
I have been researching this stone on my own compared to various online vendors and it seems like a quality stone, with a reaosonable price, that has a certificate. However, being that I am a complete rookie I wanted to ask all of you for your input.
Thank you so much!
