Erik, Lorelei has given some great advice and stone suggestions (as usual). I understand the uncertainty of purchasing over the internet for something like this. Many of the PS vendors, including WF and GOG have storefronts so you could go visit, if you would be more comfortable buying in person. If you don't mind sharing where you are located maybe there are some close to you that we could recommend.

That's going to make it a little more difficult. Obviously, New York City would have the most choices, but is probably too far for a day trip--what about Boston?. I would suggest starting a new thread asking about jewelers in your area (Burlington?) Maybe someone who hasn't been following this one would have some suggestions.

There's a reason my fiance's ring was ordered over the internet, we are in a more sparsely populated area than you and there is very limited selection. I was a little nervous about the whole ordeal, but if you choose a reputable vendor with a good return policy, there shouldn't be an issue. Good luck!
