GIA report:
Weight 2.04 ct.
Shape Round Brilliant
Color F
Clarity VS2
Measurements 8.21 x 8.31 x 4.90 mm
Depth 59.3
Table 58.0
Girdle Thin to medium
Polish Very Good
Symmetry Very Good
Fluorescence None
Culet None

I have a separate sarin report:
Crown Angle 33.7 degrees
Crown 14.1%
Pavilion Angle 40.1 degrees
Pavilion 41.8%
Girdle sarin says "0.7thin - 2.1 sl.thick 1.3%
Culet sarin says 0.5%

The HCA score is 1.5 (VG,EX,EX,EX) but I''m concerned because I know the 40.1 pavilion angle is just an average; if I were to use 40.0 for example, now the HCA brilliance rating drops to "Good" instead of "Very Good".

Visually, it seems to sparkle nicely, but I''m hesitant due to the pavilion angle being on the borderline between "Very Good" and "Good".

Thank you for any input, I really appreciate it.

What does the Sarin say for the pav angle..what is the range? Yes if you drop that pav angle to 40 it drops the score and the brilliance to Good, but if you go the other way to 40.2 it ups the score to 1.2, same with 40.3 which is then 1 TIC. So if you are talking 40 as the bottom of the range and something like 40.3 for the top...then you should be fine. Does your Sarin have the entire range?

Using an average is the only way really to determine the 'general' cut of the stone it seems. This stone has excellent spread on it...it should look larger than a 2c stone (maybe more like 2.10) from the #'s on dimensions. So you get a little bit more spread. That is why Spread is Excellent. But you may sacrifice something else to get that.

The stone sounds lovely. Did you see it in person?

Good luck!
