Im going nuts about the setting selection: It is for a round cut 1.37 ct diamond. It would be very helpful for me if I could get your opinion. Ive narrowed my options to 5 rings: Verragio, Christopher Design, Tiffany Lucida setting, Jeff Cooper, MaeVona. I would really appreciate any comment. Thanks!!!

I will attach the settings now:

Ill really appreciate any comment about this settiings, specially if someone has experience with any of them.

This will be a surprise and I wouldnt like my future fiancee to get involved, I know her taste could match them all.

Thanks.

My favorites of the 5 you posted are:

The Tiffany Lucida-inspired design is a classic; you can't go wrong with that. Check to make sure there is a matching wedding band for it, or make sure a band will fit flush with the setting.

The Christopher design is also a classic design. I like the cut of the sidestones. Very pretty.

My top favorite is the Maevona. It's classic, yet different at the same time. I actually like all of their settings -- I've seen those settings in person and they are well-crafted. The company also has an interesting history, if I remember right.

Hi Sara, Thank you very much for the quick response.

Ive just seen them all in photos, not for real. Do you know if all of them would fit with a channel set wedding band such as the one in the Verraio Photo? I think the MaeVona wouldnt. My GF loves this type of wedding band. I think it could fit any of the settings, though Im not quite sure.

What do you think? Thanks again.

I like the Christopher Design or the Verragio.

The nice thing about Verragio is that they offer a Lifetime warranty! So you really can't go wrong with them.

I''ve just spent several months looking at settings, so it''s not a problem -- glad to help!

Many of the Tiffany Lucida style settings require specially shaped bands to fit flush with them (by flush, I mean the two rings fit together without a gap in between them). One of my friends has that setting, though, and the company that designed her setting made it in such a way that the criss-cross design allows a band to sit flat next to the engagement ring. She wears hers with a channel set diamond band and it looks great.

I think the Jeff Cooper design would look stunning with a channel set wedding band. Very sleek and elegant!

The Verraggio is designed to have a channel set band with it, as you say. I''m just not sure what the head (part that holds the diamond) is like on that setting, so I was hesitating on that because I was having a hard time imagining how the prongs worked.

You''re right, the Maevona would probably not accommodate a channel set wedding band.

Thanks Laila,

Tough decision, I like them all, but as for know my first choice is:

1. Christopher Design
2. Verragio
3. Mae Vona
4. Tiffany Lucida
5. Jeff Cooper

I still havent seen many photos for the Christopher Design, I dont know how tall is the mounting, I know my GF doesnt like very tall mountings.

I would really like to see more pictures on the first one.

Thanks again.

Sara,

What about the Christopher design, have you seen this one for real? What are your taughts on this one comparingit to the other?

Many thanks.

I have not seen the Christopher brand in real life.

I think it is beautiful - very elegant. Do they have a matching channel set wedding band? I think it might be important for the cut of the stones in the wedding band to match the cut of the stones in the engagement ring. But others here may be able to give you better opinions on that than I can. There are lots of PS members who wear channel set bands.

The Christopher ring is lovely -- really, all your choices are very nice! -- so I would get some opinions from the forum on what type of stones in the wedding band would work, and you will have a wonderful ring for your future fiancee.

I like the Christopher design. I''d go with that.

Many thanks Sara, you''ve been so kind.

Ill look forward to keep listening to the folks within the forum. Any opinion would be extremely helpful.

the tiffany lucinda or the verragio, those both are a tie for me.

I like the firsts two or the tiffany setting.

my favorite is the Tiffany ring

Tiffany Lucida is my favorite. A really classic look.

I prefer the Verragio!

You''re welcome!
I forgot to tell you, I have seen Jeff Cooper settings in person -- they are very well made, also. Very hight quality. But they are very "tailored" in their look. The other settings you have chosen have a more feminine feel to them.

If your gf likes modern, clean, sleek design, she may like a plain metal solitaire (no side stones on the e-ring) with a channel set wedding band. Very sophisticated. You could get that look with either the Tiffany Lucida style or the Jeff Cooper.

But like I said, you can''t go wrong with any of the styles you''ve chosen!

Here''s a link to the Vatche setting for a round diamond. I believe this is the company that makes the Lucida setting for Tiffany.

toss up between lucida (can get almost any wedding band you want)
or the verragio- limited on the style of wedding band, however what has been posted is excellent choice

I''m very partial to the Verragio setting!!!

wow, great selection- it''ll really help me when I''m ready to buy mine.

I like the MaeVona. But I think what''s most important is what you determine to be closest to what she''ll like above all.

Good luck!

I like the Maevona, then the Christopher and Verragio, then the Lucida, and then the Jeff Cooper.

One thing to consider is your gf''s lifestyle - the Verragio is beautiful but it looks like it sits kinda high, so if she is sorta accident-prone, a lower setting might work better.

All your choices are lovely, and I''m sure she''ll be really happy with your final decision.
