I got my idealscope results from the fantastic people at JamesAllen... Please help me interpret them.

Followed by this one:

And this one is last:

Carat weight: 0.84

I'm kinda partial to number 2 for some reason, probably the cleaner looking area around the arrows... but they were really raving about number 1. This diamond has been in their inventory for the longest of the 3 and I'm a little curious why it hasn't been sold if it is such a fantastic performer. I think we both agreed that number 3 is out, but I put it up here for comparison. Anyways, I'll defer to the community here, let me know what you think!

I like the first one too. Go for it.

Thanks Gypsy!! You and the gemologist are on the same page... Out of scientific curiosity, what makes one image look better than the other? And, are these images much better than the images for the "average" GIA excellent cut? I'm not trying to split hairs, just really interested in learning this stuff.

I meant to mention an extra wrinkle in my original post: The one I do choose (definitely leaning towards option 1 now) still has to go head-to-head with this:

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.60-carat-i-color-si1-clarity-ideal-cut-sku-374915

Obviously it's 0.1 ct smaller which is a negative (0.595 ct weight), but it's an I color and a part of their truehearts collection. I didn't choose it as one of my three to review since it is part of their signature line and already has an idealscope image for all to see. Not factoring the similar prices, which would you (or any other esteemed forum experts) choose? It's going in a solitaire or pave white gold ring, for now at least.

My favorites are the top two. I actually prefer the ASET and the smaller table of #2. But I tend to give the JA gemologists the benefit of the doubt when it comes to RB.

They have the stones in front of them.

So with RB's that trumps my personal preferences.

And yes, they are much better that the most of the GIA Ex.

Very cool, that makes sense... In the write-up, they called the second one a "Strong second-choice" and praised it's attributes overall, but they preferred the first due to it's superior light performance. I must say I was slightly partial to the smaller-table stone (no. 2) going in to this as well. But as you said, they have actually laid eyes on them side-by-side, and we haven't. I definitely appreciate your vote of confidence in their choice!

So that leaves it going head-to-head with the AGS0 Truehearts stone I linked in my second post. Coming from someone (myself) who knows nothing about this - do you think the average young woman, who is going to stare at her new diamond for hours on end, would notice and prefer the upgrade in color and the benefits that the "truehearts" stone brings to the 0.1 ct downgrade in size? That's my last thing I'm agonizing over...
