The 5.02 definitely looks bigger. They are both delicious. Hard to choose, as in one pic I saw more colour, and in another pic, I saw more colour in the other stone....Can't wait to see the finished product!

Thank you so much, its a hard pick for sure :/ do you think the stones are very grey?

The 2nd one by far. It's a stunner. Also they don't look grey. It's mostly just the lighting.

I've never been into lab diamonds before but those videos are making me change my mind.

They are both outliers in that they would likely make AGS Ideal but not GIA Excellent...not that it matters to me, since I put more stock into AGS's cut criteria than I do GIA's.

They both lean a little gray, with the 5.02 seeming to have a little more warmth with a slight twinge of yellow or brown.

Not that it matters to me, either, because they both appear to perform quite well. I would give the advantage to the 5.02 since I can notice the difference in diameter...crosses the 11mm mark - that's awesome!

I never was into labs until I saw them in person too!

Do you think the grey and yellow/brownish of the 5.02 is very noticeable?

Not at all, based on the videos. I could only notice the difference in the second/middle side view picture.

Thank you, i was leaning more for the 5.02 too, but now that you've mentioned it looks a bit brownish/yellow I am worried it leans more toward brownish (i dont mind a yellow hue) hahha

I prefer the look of the 5.01. It falls into the FIC category and the colored light it was giving off was noticeable immediately. They only look grey in the sunlight to my eye.

Thank you. It's such a hard decision to make... I went back and I can see that the 5.01 seems to give off more raibows than the 5.02.

Hello Everyone,

I am back again and am asking for help for these last 2 contenders. Please let me know which one is better or if I should keep looking for other diamonds.

Side to side comparison:
Side View - 3 Different lighting - Are the stones very grey? which one is more grey?
Top View - Different lighting

Thank you so much!

It is normal for diamonds to look a little grey-metallic in the sun and in spotlighting. They do not look unusually grey to me. If one of them keeps giving you pause over and over, then go with your instincts and pick the one that you are less worried about.

I agree with you on lab diamonds and recommend that people see them in person before dismissing them entirely.

Thank you, do you think any of the two look brownish? and if so which one is more brown? or yellow?

I am a beginner in my diamond education (glad I found Pricescope) but I do graphic design professionally and have done extremely precise color corrections for photography -

Just my opinion, the warmth you see is from the ambient light. The indoors photo seems like it is lit from either a warm tungsten light or an indoor (warm toned) LED. Also the hardwood flooring is very warm toned.

The outdoor vid of the 2nd diamond in natural light is more cool-toned because it is partially in the shadows. That video looks more light balanced overall in terms of the ambient light since sunlight contains a fuller spectrum of wavelengths.

That was so helpful! you are right about the indoor lighting, they had yellow warm lights in the office, which it was hard to take videos of the stone. Thank you

Which one spoke the most to you in person and why?

I think the one that spoke most to me was the 5.02 mostly because I could see the arrows a bit better and it looked more crisp, also the spread was noticeable when put next to each other. Performance wise to my eye it looked like they sparkled the same amount. I saw both under the scope and neither had bad strains. The 5.02 also looked better under the scope as it was a VS and the other was a SI (very good SI - the only thing i could see immedialy under the scope was just something on the bottom.

But i am not an expert so I am not sure if the 5.02 actually performs or looks better than the 5.01.

What is ur opinion?

I think they are pretty close based on the information available.
Go with what your eyes were telling you.
