Hello everyone... first time user here on the forums and I've been reading this section for a couple of weeks before making my first post.... so thanks in advance. Also if there is any other info I should ask... please inform me.

I am trying to make a decision between a couple of Tiffany rings on their classic setting and would like opinions about these 3:

1.20 carat, H color, VS2 clarity - $15,600
Depth Percentage – 62.6%
Table Percentage – 57%
Crown Angle – 35.4’
Pavilion Angle – 40.8’
HCA - 2.5

1.39 carat, H color, VS2 clarity - $18,900
Depth Percentage – 60.9%
Table Percentage – 60%
Crown Angle – 35.0’
Pavilion Angle – 40.9’
HCA - 2.7

1.13 carat, G color, VS2 clarity - $16,200
Depth Percentage – 61.5%
Table Percentage – 57%
Crown Angle – 34.9’
Pavilion Angle – 40.7’
HCA - 1.2

First one is a bit too deep, second one is a 60/60 stone - better to have an idealscope for that, third one looks the best based on numbers.

Do you think the 1.20 ct would look smaller than the 1.13 ct due to depth?

I was hoping the first one would work out since it's larger in size and the price seemed good... but is it something I should stay away from?

The 2nd (60/60 ring) looked pretty good but the HCA is the highest out of the 3 and price is a bit heavy too...

Thanks, still trying to learn about what I'm looking at.

They're probably all fine. Pick using your eyes.

Thanks Julie, but for right now I have not been able to see the rings, only able to see the stats with a representative over phone/e-mail.

Do you think the depth of the first one would be a problem?

What are the dimensions of the first and third?

The mm measurement will tell you which one will be larger physically.

I agree with JulieN

maybe you can take her in store. Let the diamonds "speak" to her :)

If it's a surprise, let them "speak" to you. I was at Tiffany's past weekend, and I think they all look the same lol, just size difference

Just got some dimensions for these. Thanks

1.20 carat, H color, VS2
6.74x6.77x4.23MM

1.29 carat, H color, VS2
6.93x6.96x4.35MM

1.39 carat, H color, VS2
7.16x7.19x4.37MM

What happened to the G?

JulieN,

I eliminated that one because I decided against its karat size.
Now I am strongly leaning towards the 1.29 ct, especially due to its HCA score.

I also have the following info for the 1.29:
Depth Percentage – 62.6%
Table Percentage – 55%
Crown Angle – 35.0’
Pavilion Angle – 40.8’
6.93x6.96x4.35MM

What do you think about this one?

Thanks

anyone have inputs on this before i go with the decision? thanks

That one should be fine.

Are you open to preloved? Jewels by Erica Grace (one of our antiques vendor) has a 1.42ct authentic Tiffany solitaire (and it's included in their spring sale as well).

Here is the link to the JBEG preloved Tiffany;

Brian Gavin also makes settings that really do look and feel like Tiffany;

You could buy a setting from Brian Gavin and a better centre stone for less money with better specs than the stones at Tiffany in my humble opinion and no-one would ever know the difference.

Thanks for posting the pics to the JbEG ring, I didn't have the link handy as I was on my phone! It sounds like the poster's GF wants Tiffany for the name, not just the look as he already turned down Tiffany inspired rings. That's why I think he needs to snap up the JbEG one because it's authentic, a GREAT deal, AND comes under his budget!! ::) :naughty:
