I’ve read up a lot on lab diamonds but I still feel overwhelmed. From what I understand even if a diamond has ideal specs on paper it can still have other unwanted characteristics. I’ve been browsing on loosegrowndiamond and thought I’ve found a few good ones but now I’m not so sure.

Any help from @DejaWiz, @Kim N, or any knowledgeable pricescopers would be greatly appreciated!

I have a budget of 1500 but can stretch a bit. I’m hoping to find an ideal cut round diamond between 1.5-1.9 carat. Would like to stay within DEF/ VVS-VS range if possible. G/Si1 is ok if it’s cut beautifully and eye clean. I’m looking for a white fireball of a diamond!

I may be getting ahead of myself here but I’ve already found the perfect setting! This diamond will go on the Petite Valoria six prong solitaire from Whiteflash. I have always admired the beauty of a solitaire.. but one thing at a time!

I love the Valoria setting. Have you asked Whiteflash if they will set an outside stone?

I have not. I was thinking to purchase just setting and have a local jeweler set the diamond. Perhaps I should find out first if they would even sell it without the purchase of a stone.

I would definitely check before moving forward. And I would really consider buying from WF if you know you want their setting.

I chatted with a rep from whiteflash. It seems they would really like me to purchase a stone from them if I want the setting.

Since I have a budget of 1500 I don’t think I can afford their diamonds with the specs I want. I know they sell the very best and do charge a premium for them.

I looked at a few options at loosegrowndiamond and really liked these: IGI LG602365236 & LG617411492. Whiteflash rep showed me a similar option they carry IGI-LG577306246. I think it’s a beautiful stone as well but it is more than double the cost of the other two I had my sights on.

So I may have to reconsider the setting lol

Yeah
The valoria is nice, but if you can't afford one of their stones I would probably look elsewhere for a similar setting

Hello, Minx7891!
Is your budget of around $1500 for just the loose diamond?

No, I'd avoid that one ...there's some pavilion twist going on there.

That was in my cart before I decided to come here and ask for advice! I figure what could go wrong with a D IF diamond! Ok, I’m checking out with one of the recommendations above before someone else does.

The diamond is here and it’s absolutely breathtaking! I want to thank @Kim N and @DejaWiz for helping me find this diamond. I will find a setting worthy of this beauty and treasure it for years to come. I’ve never purchased a loose diamond before. I find it so polarizing to look at! IMG_1581.jpeg IMG_1581.jpeg

Gorgeous! Def share photos when you get it set. And is that an eternity band peaking through on one of the photos? Will look gorgeous paired with your new stone!

Thank you! Will do! And yes, it’s an eternity band. It was one of the best purchases ever made (also thanks to wonderful P.S members here ). 1707612879816.jpeg
