Hi,
I’m looking for a very well cut lab grown diamond about 1.75ct, eye clean, color between D-F for a “daily wear” pendent. The most important thing to me is fire and sparkle. I really don’t know how to evaluate cut (beyond setting the filter for ‘ideal’ or ‘affinity’ or whatever). I’d love a great price too! Adiamor seems to be having a good sale. Really appreciate your stone recommendations! Thanks!

Here are some great options for you. All of these are HPHT.

Thanks!! I’ve seen people talk about “8X” on the forum. Does that apply to any of these?

I’m sorry, I don’t know what HPHT means.

8x refers to GCAL 8x reports. These diamonds have been thoroughly evaluated for light performance, and some of us consider them near or essentially super ideal cut. If you click on the GCAL links below, you'll see all the analysis GCAL does.

Here are two examples.

I’m sorry, I don’t know what HPHT means.

It is the growth method--High Pressure High Temperature. High Pressure High Temperature is how the earth formed diamonds. CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) is the other method.

You can find good and bad stones with either method. They each have issues to watch out for. CVD may have striations, brown or grey tint, haziness, birefringence. HPHT may have blue nuance. An HPHT without blue nuance is the closest thing to natural.

Thanks! Do you think one of the 8X stones would be better than one of the Ritani stones for a necklace?

For a pendant, I'd save the ones and go with one of the Ritani stones.

Thanks! For my education, what causes the (smallish) difference in price among a set of very similar stones like the 4 Ritani stones you recommended? I can tell it is not as simple as weight or size. Thanks for all your help!

I ordered the 1.85ct stone from Ritani in a pendant. Thanks for your help!

It could be something like cost to acquire or time in inventory.

You're welcome, that's wonderful! Please come back and share photos!
