I am trying to evaluate the cut of this lab marquise. It seems to throw a lot of fire which is what I'm looking for but would like your expert opinions on it. The IGI certificate is LG655460717. I tried to take some ASET images but it was difficult as it is set into a ring but I did my best! Would you rate this as a very good or excellent cut by the ASET images and the specifications? What are your opinions on it? Thank you!

Also I have just realized that this diamond has French tips. Is this regarded as a positive or does it affect the quality of the cut in a negative way?

Its to help make the pointed ends of the stone safer and less likely to chip. I would consider that a positive.
I* dont think it would negatively affect the stone or they wouldn't do it. People would just have to take their chances
with possible cracking/chipping near the ends, like they've done since the marquise shape was created.

It looks like a lovely stone. What do you think about it? It looks perfect on your hand, and I like the 3 stone setting you put it
in. Is it as fiery as you expected?

Yes it does have more fire than the other marquise that I bought last year. I think it is lovely plus my husband likes this setting and he is tough to please as I like lots of sparkle and he likes more simple settings so this one is a good compromise. I guess I'm just looking for confirmation that it looks really good as I spent more on this one than I had planned because I didn't want to order a bunch of stones again trying to guess which one would have a lot of fire, go through the return process and then try to find a setting that I liked. I like this one enough that I keep delaying going to my jeweler to have it sized up a size and a half because then I wouldn't be able to squish it on my finger and look at it all day!

I would love to get a response from Garry H (Cut Nut) , dejawiz or other diamond experts on the diamond ASET or specs. I am trying to learn as much as I can about diamonds so that I can make better choices.

The ASET looks really good IMO. You can look here for marquise ASET info...

Looks like an 8 main marquise...should show on the lab report.

I agree...the ASET looks promising.
Did you have any concerns with this MC...anything that is making you question it, TreasureSeeker ?

I am having trouble comparing the various ASET images that I find online to this one. I'm not sure if this would be considered an excellent, really good, or just an okay cut comparing to those other images so I wanted the opinions of people with more experience than me. There doesn't seem to be much red reaching to the edges or the ends other than at the midsection but there is a lot of green. I'm not quite sure what I should be looking for. I really would like an excellent cut and I am hoping that I've found it in this one. I guess I'm just second guessing as I don't have an excellent cut stone to compare it to in person. Thanks for your help!

ASET looks good when combined with the other image.
The over green is partly a placement issue and partly the nature of the cut.
If you blow the image up you see traces of red in the green, that means its at the red green border, or the scope placement is off.
Both are extremely common and not unexpected.
I would say you did good!
Take it on a cruise around your environment and enjoy it in every lighting environment possible. (watch out for direct sunlight as it can make any diamond look not its best)

Thank you Karl! That eases my mind!
