I am looking at 4 stones that look promising and I need help figuring out which one is the best choice. Here are the specs:

ALL GIA

1. 1.30 I, SI1, 7.00-7.04x4.32, D 61.6, T 56.5, CA 34.7, PA 43, girdle thin to med (eye clean)

2. 1.24 I, SI1, 6.89-6.90x4.24, D61.2, T 56.2, CA 34.7, PA 40.6 girdle thin to med (eye clean)

3. 1.25 H, SI1, 6.89-6.98x4.23, D61.0, T 60, CA 34.5, PA 41.4, girdle thing to med (eye clea)

4. 1.29 I, SI1, 7.08-7.12x4.22, D 59.4, T 60, CA 33, PA 41.0, same as others.

Please let me know which one you would pick and why.

Thanks

Assuming no typo.
no to #1, #3.

#2 and #4 looks promising. #4 is cut more for spread and brilliance, sacrificing fire, #2 is a more balance cut.

My pick #2.

These are rounds, correct?

1. Definitely not. V steep pavilion
2. images, could be good
3. No - pav steep again
4. Again could be good if you like the 60-60 look

ETA: jet got there first

Yes, they are all rb. Is 60-60 not desirable in rounds?

60-60 is fine, it''s just a bit of a different "look"

. A well cut 60-60 is stunning!

I tend to look for a very small table, but that''s just perfonal preference. A 33-41 stone will tend toward brilliance over fire, which is also not my personal preference.

Ditto.

Btw, those numbers are not from the GIA report right? Any images?

I believe they are. Why would they be different from what was given to me by the vendors? I don''t have images, but could get the GIA reports to double check.

Because the tables size, crown and pavilion angles are in the wrong steps. GIA rounds the tables size in 1% steps, crown angles in steps of 0.5 degrees and pavilion angles in step of 0.2 degrees.

Maybe the vendor did his own sarin scan of the stones and give you those numbers or these are from an older report? Just guessing so get the GIA report number and use this link to check.http://www2.gia.edu/reportcheck/index.cfm

Both 1 & 2 were from WF and they are no longer available. DH and I did not realize diamonds sold so quickly. Well that only leaves # 4 so needless to say, I am open to suggestions. Does anyone know where I can find a stone that is in the 1.25-1.40 range? I want to take my time and make sure I know what I am doing. Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what kind of budget and specs are you working with?

A very smart approach indeed. Best thing to do is work your way through the Knowlege section. It will not only clear up confusion but will also save you time and money

I would like to spend no more than 7500. Most important is the cut, of course. Size is also important and I know I''m going to have to sacrifice the other c''s to do that. By the way, should I walk away from #4 or is it worth considering? Thank you so much for your great responses.

I forgot to mention that this stone scored a 1.4 on the HCA.
